Absolutely fabulous experience. Hidden gem on the water, super cute “casitas” and the people are just wonderful I can not say thank you enough we loved it.

My husband and I stayed at Villa Makax Casita Perla over the Christmas holiday 2017. It was wonderful. Having our own Casita just steps away from a private beach that is great for swimming and just relaxing, but if you prefer the pool is awesome as well. The restaurant just the beach was open Christmas day for eats. The owners, Steve and Lindell are wonderful hosts. Their support staff, Juan and he wife are quite awesome as well. They will do shopping and errands as they had our place stocked with some beer and Kahlua. The puppies Lassie and Bella made it feel like home as well. We rented a golf cart for 10 days and that just made it perfect! Wouldn't trade a minute of our time at Villa Makax and Isla Mujeres!

Villa Makax is always a great place to re-visit. Steve and his wife are lovely hosts. They put in a beautiful salt water, heated pool!!! It is FABULOUS! Step out of your villa into this well thought out/designed pool. And their new t-shirts are great too! Thank you Steve!

Truly a lovely place on the bay looking across to Cancun. Away from the hustle of El Centro but a short taxi ride away it's a calm spot to really relax and enjoy the pool, sit on a beach chair, go for a swim in the bay or just read a book. The owners are absolutely wonderful people and have been on the island for decades. You'll love them. The casitas are perfect, everything you need and nothing you don't. The bed is extremely comfortable and air conditioning is a nice touch although we really never used it, preferring to sleep with the large sliding door open and the screen in place and enjoying a gentle breeze from the ceiling fan. Taxis are frequent along the otherwise quiet street and are an easy way to get around. A golf cart would be even easier but by no means is a requirement. I'm looking forward to coming back to Villa Makax and it will be my first choice as a place to stay on the island. It's really a gem.

There are four separate units (palapas) that are close to the beach. Each has its own kitchen amenities - this year new refrigerators and microwaves. Has a heated swimming pool private for guests. Views are spectacular. Service is great of you need anything.

We loved our stay here! Peaceful get away towards the southern end of the island. The owners were very hospitable, and we enjoyed visiting with them. We had fun venturing out daily exploring the island and going on excursions, but loved coming back to the peace and tranquility at Villa Makax.
