1. The 4 days I stated I asked to see the manager 4 times and was never available or in the premises and never attempted to contact me or schedule a time. Staff has a lot of issues and confusion so their first problem is no one is there to guide them lead me or help them. All have the actitudes of “if you don’t like it you can leave” 2. If you expect a king bed, don’t. All their rooms are by availability only at the moment of check in regardless of your reservation. On my engagement I had to sleep in separate beds from my fiancé…. Until I complained enough they swapped us rooms after someone checked out. 3. A water heater/boiler broke while I was there leaving a handful of rooms without water 4. You’re supposed to get a bottle of champagne in your room per night, I didn’t on my third night and they just played dumb and never got it 5. Do not use their bikes, 3 different bikes the chains broke on me, 1 the handle bars bent and 1 the sit broke. Don’t use the hotel bikes. They just said take it or leave it, even after I fell and hurt my self. 6. Don’t get “ocean front” room. It’s not ocean front, the room are really far from the water and there is vegetation that doesn’t let you see ocean on most rooms, everyone has to walk the 50-80 meters to the ocean 7. Breakfast and food is ok, nothing espectacular. 8. The two pools are their saving grace. Really nice, the sushi one is good for sunset and swop up bar is really nice. There is only 1 bartender so it does take him a bit to get your drinks Bc he serves the restaurant, beach, pool and welcome drinks

Villas Palapas del Mar is a 2 or 3 star property, nothing more. I am writing this review after staying here for 2 full days. The common theme of all the issues I have seen is that the corporate parent (HM) does not appear to be committed to making the guest stay the most amazing experience possible. There really is an attitude, especially among the front desk staff, of "I just work here." The front desk staff appears to have no authority to resolve any issues that arise. The minor details: 1. smoking allowed within 5 feet of the restaurant, 2. food is not adequate for most children, 3. room is spartan - our room doesn't even have a chair to sit on when you want to put your shoes on, 4. staff does not appear to be compensated very well - I saw a staff member take food out of buffet behind the manager's back and go into the kitchen to eat it, 5. a kitchen staff member used the bathroom next to me and went to wash his hands but the water was not working in the sink so he just went back to work. The location is nice. The mini pool in front of the room is nice. We paid $3,164 usd all-inclusive for a family of four for 5 nights. If we come back we will stay at a different place further down the beach.

All was great but they messed it up on the checkout day. No late checkout possible and you have to pay for lunch/water from the checkout at 12:00 till you leave, even if you had the all inclusive package during your stay.

Holbox was such a great destination and the service at the hotel was great! The breakfast was delicious, I would recommend it and very clean rooms. The lobby is beautiful and you are greeted with a delicious cucumber water. Really enjoyed my stay.

I when there for a wedding , What a bad hotel. Not clean , they still my wallet in my bedroom and send me to the police station. They didn’t wanted to check out the camera because it was going to take to long and the technician was not in the property. If you have any valuable belongings, do not take them with you in that hotel. What a bad experience.

Nice hotel close to the beach. Everything was clean. Our room was big and had everything we needed. The pool and the rooftop bar are really nice. The breakfast and food in general was very good and reasonably priced. The only two downsides were the slow wifi (at times not available at all) and the fact that we could hear the other guests very well in our room. Two out of three nights we woke up because of other guests. In my opinion the staff should make sure that noone is making too much noise or listening to music in the middle of the night.

Fantastic experience at this hotel. Just right for a week. Very comfortable beds, housekeeping was perfect, servers were so friendly and warm, food was great, drinks were great, pool was awesome and not very crowded, beach was absolutely stunning. Our room was very close to the restaraunt which was advantageous but at a couple times- it was loud and not relaxing. If we return to this hotel, we’ll ask to be away from the restaurant.

The resort has nice, clean, yet simple rooms. Extremely close to the beach, with comfortable lounges and umbrellas. Short 5-8min walk into town. Staff was friendly and helpful! We opted for the all inclusive which was worth it. The food here was much better than most large all-inclusive resorts I’ve been to. Plus the drinks were mostly top shelf-ish booze. Only complaint would be the bar doesn’t open till 11am and the hot water was spotty. We had a great time, thank you!
