No están sufriendo ni experimentan ninguna clase de dolor, porque los muertos “no tienen conciencia de nada en absoluto” (Eclesiastés 9:5). Jesús comparó la muerte a un sueño profundo (Juan 11:11-14). Por lo tanto, no debemos tener miedo a los muertos ni tratar de complacerlos mediante ofrendas. No pueden ni ayudarnos ni hacernos daño, porque en la tumba “no hay trabajo ni formación de proyectos ni conocimiento ni sabiduría” (Eclesiastés 9:10). Sin embargo, gracias a la resurrección, Dios eliminará la muerte para siempre (1 Corintios 15:26, 55;Revelación [Apocalipsis] 21:4). WHERE ARE THE DEAD? Simply put, the Bible says that the dead are in the grave, awaiting the resurrection (John 5:28, 29). They are not suffering or experiencing any kind of pain, because the dead "are conscious of nothing at all" (Ecclesiastes 9: 5). Jesus compared death to a deep sleep (John 11: 11-14). Therefore, we should not be afraid of the dead or try to please them through offerings. They can neither help nor harm us, because in the grave “there is no work or project formation, no knowledge or wisdom” (Ecclesiastes 9:10). However, thanks to the resurrection, God will eliminate death forever (1 Corinthians 15:26, 55; Revelation [Revelation] 21: 4).
