Thank you, beautiful bird ,no expensive, clean places

It’s a poorly kept place, with a whooping $15 dlls entrance fee, for a 15 or 20 minutes walk around… pros: most wildlife is not freaked out by human sight, so you can take good pictures of them even with a cellphone camera ; there are some Agutí running freely; birds look almost healthy but sad… Cons: can’t go in there on wheelchairs and would not recommend to go if have walking troubles; no signs nor information about the 5 or 6 species found there, not even a flyer or guide to know what your are watching to; almost no maintenance or even personnel, so the water is still and smelly, there are bird-poo zones where you have to walk on, hoses and water pumps protruding here and there, rock trail with uneven and broken areas, and the small size of the zone with a street and cars in half of the perimeter and houses with pools on the other half so you can hear the people screaming and splashing a few meters away… So I’m sorry of this opinion but with so many things to do elsewhere in the surroundings, and the poor experience, it’s just a ripoff… 5 dlls would be more realistic and would convince more people to go in because its a good project but poorly executed.

A lovely walk through the jungle and simple cenote to see quite a number of birds in the wild and many of them do actually have the freedom to fly away if they choose, but the environment has been so naturally enhanced for them that they choose to stay. It won't take long to get around the aviary, but there are a couple of seating areas where you can stop and just watch in peace and soak in the beauty of Mother Nature and wildlife. Not pushchair or wheelchair friendly...

Nice place to see some beautiful birds and other wildlife. Facility provides mosquitoe repellent. You can spend 15 minutes or a few hours. Clean restrooms.

Before entering we found the ticket price USD15 a bit expensive to see some birds only, but we were very happy we went in. It is a beautiful place, like a mini jungle. Our small kids also loved it. I would recommend it to my friends.

Xaman-Ha is a lovely sanctuary, lovingly managed by knowledgeable staff (shout out to Edgar who was so fun to chat with!). It’s located within the gated hotel-zone of Playacar (security check at entrance). Although not very large in size, strolling through the sanctuary’s rustic paths and resting on the benches makes for a relaxing experience. They house an impressive amount of bird species and it’s quite obvious the birds are all well cared for. They even rehabilitate pelicans before releasing them back into the wild. Overall, a visit here is time and money well spent, just keep in mind it’s a sanctuary, not a zoo. A must-visit for bird lovers!

Beautiful aviary! Plan on spending an hour here. It is small but worth the $15 entry fee in my opinion. It is located inside of a condo complex, and is not well marked. We passed it up and had to go back, paying close attention to find the entrance. There are also some smaller Mayan Ruins nearby, worth a short walk to see!
