XCAANDA - 70839 Puerto Escondido

Looks nice but such bad/slow service. I had to go and ask them for my change. The people themselves are lovely! Also, don’t ask for coco fría - they just pour out the coconut water and mix it with ice, which waters the coconut water down.

Great spot to rent chairs and umbrellas for the day but the food SUCKS!! I recommend only getting drinks and guacamole. Everything else on the menu was either not available or terrible. We ordered a coconut and it had gone bad, the queso fundido was terrible, and the pizzas were the worst pizzas I’ve ever seen and tasted. Both of us had an upset stomach afterwards.

Super weak drinks, glacial service, and over priced. They literally may have not even put alcohol in a margarita and given us lime juice. Keep walking, there are some really great places nearby. This ain’t one.

We came at night, it was a mistake, I think this would be a cool day beach spot potentially, though, if you have unlimited time and wanna just chill without buying too much as they literally forget ya. We both also speak fluent Spanish but service was just bad/slow. After seating us, 15 minutes to even talk to us, desculpe, but we already grabbed our own menus and chose food and drinks after waiting a few. A full 30 minutes after we ordered, ooops no more lomo de tuna can you order another thing, desculpe. Can I get some bottled water? Sure! (Never came), desculpe. Can I get a second drink? Sure! (Didn’t even bring the menu again). The food was 6/10 but small after waiting so long and us getting all hangry. Was decent arrachera and I actually thought the queso fundido was good, but seriously so small after being so hungry from waiting. There’s so many other spots at la punta, so if you’re choosing, choose yourself and go anywhere else to save you some time, unless it’s super busy and you just gotta be on da beach.

Great place to have a drink with friends at the beach. Good music and balanced prices. I recommend sitting at the bar and ordering some mezcal.

Food was pretty good (I got the nachos) but I thought it was strange and confusing how they priced their drinks. I ordered a paloma and you have to pay for the drink plus an extra 150 pesos for the liquor. Location is great but the service wasn’t very good. So slow, I got there when there was maybe 5 people there and it took 30 minutes for anyone to come by. Also they were not very friendly and then started blasting techno early in the day which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it seems more of a party place rather than a relax and read on the beach place.

Fresh seafood, nice beach area and good cocktails for an fair price. Worth to spend a day :)
