★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are few to zero (excluding me) Caucasian tourists here. It's as close as you'll get to the flavor of Old Mexico. Mainly locals carrying on the business of survival with a few Mexican tourists sprinkled in, here and there. Wood kiosks dot the park selling local foods. The park really comes alive in the evenings, mainly Friday, Saturday and Sunday, when the people come from the surrounding towns in the mountains to enjoy the 'big city' life. Comparatively speaking, of course! Not a big town at all but the park next to the church is the heart of this beautiful pueblo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved this little town. Ran into a saint birthday celebration that was awesome! A statue of Santa Magdalena was paraded trough the city, and there were people doing traditional dances in front of the beautifully adorned cathedral for hours! Including an army of clowns! It was so colorful and fun. The coffee from a place called Santa Rosa was some of the best in the region. Bought a couple of bags to go. Will gladly return some day.
