Spent a couple days here and it rocked. Got some great guided dives in with Roger and had multiple great cave diving discussions. Nelly chefs up some wicked food as well. Your taste buds will be satisfied; and your cave diving knowledge will grow.

In quick summary: XOC-Ha is an amazing bed and breakfast for divers and non-divers to spend their vacation in Mexico. The accommodations, food, and location are top notch. For those of us diving, the training and guided diving will go above and beyond your expectations. I have been to XOC-Ha 3 times in the the last two years for training and diving, having just returned from a month-long stay. That's no coincidence. Everything from the accommodation, to the food, training, and diving is nothing short of awesome. The location is perfectly situated about an hour south of the Cancun Airport - putting you equidistant from Playa Del Carmen and Tulum. There are some of the most beautiful caves and cenotes only a short five minute drive away. You also have a really nice Chedraui (think Walmart/Target/Grocery Store), as well as some amazing restaurants a short ten-minute drive away. XOC-Ha offers a full suite of training from cavern through full cave as well as other technical training. They also offer guided cavern diving, which is perfect for a recreational diver interested in experiencing this new and beautiful environment. Roger will go above and beyond to point out really neat things along all of his tours - whether its a mind boggling cave formation or fossils that are tens of thousands of years old. Oh, and all your courses and guided dives come with an amazing breakfast and packed lunch from Nelly. All the food is vegan, but for those that are skeptical - fear not. I am not vegan and I would happily eat Nelly's food every day of my life. The cave training and guided diving I received from Roger is nothing short of excellent. He's a very knowledgeable instructor that not only shows you HOW to do things, but also delves into the WHY - which I find very helpful for reinforcing what you're learning. He's one of the most passionate divers I know and will go above and beyond your expectations, whether you're taking a course or getting guided through a cavern or cave. You are not making a mistake booking your trip to stay and train at XOC-Ha.

Best dive instructor and best vegan food in cute little house inside the jungle

I stayed at XOC-Ha for my Intro to Cave diving course and some guided cave dives. As a scuba Instructor myself I could not have better words to describe Roger approach to diving. It is fun, it is safe and overall very enjoyable (even the part were you actually need to survive the infamous bubble gun!!). As a guest, the facilities are amazing and super cozy. They even have their own private micro cenote!! As a non-vegan, the food was beyond amazing. Nelly convinced me that vegan food can be awesome! Also, the prices are pretty fantastic. TL;DR. BOOK IT NOW.

I greatly enjoyed my experience of taking intro to cave with Roger at XOC-Ha. Roger is a fantastic instructor and excellent teacher, he will not only show you how to cave dive but he will also explain why those skills are so important. Their on-site accommodations are wonderful, plus Nelly and Roger are eager to help make your stay as pleasant as possible.
