★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food. The trajineras (little boats). The shops. This a beautiful place to experience. It has a very local feel while have the familiarity of an amusement park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located in a working-class neighborhood gives way to the famous canals of Xochimilco, the last remnants of a vast water transport system built by the Aztecs. Colorful gondola-like boats take visitors on cruises while food vendors, artisans and mariachi bands float past. The atmosphere is festive, especially on weekends. Tourists can also visit the eerie, purportedly haunted Island of the Dolls.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was nice but kind of tricky with money. It was 700 pesos for the complete way, around one hour and a half. But they never say to you that you also HAVE TO pay a 200 pesos "tip" fee for the driver.
It's better if you already bring your food, snacks and drinks with you. Once you are already on the boat, everything it's gonna be expensive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My God, this place was fantastic. If I go back to Mexico City I will be back. Must get the freshly made tacos, with a couple of cold beers. Go early in the day because after sunset the young crowd rolled in and the music volume rolls up. Go!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must go when the weather is warm. It's a good place for both families or friends since you are allowed to bring your own food and drinks, but you can get local food right on the spot as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Would pass on the boat tour if I could do it over again. Lots of sellers coming to the boat looking to sell crafts, food, or services (music). Be prepared to negotiate prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was one of the most unique experiences during out stay in mexico city. We came for a wedding and a bunch of us decided to rent these boats for 2 hours. Each boat can fit around 18 people and has a table and chairs. Other boats have food such as tacos, grilled corn, etc and will pull up to your boat. As with any tour in mexico there are lots of vendors selling things. There are also Mariachi boats that will pull up and play incredible music for a small fee. The guys in the orange suits were the best. The brown suits weren't that great. Some of the bands were fantastic but others needed more practice. The boats cost 500 pesos per hour for 18 people. Beers are approx 30 pesos each and they just count the empty bottles when you return. So much fun!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely place to visit, I especially liked the boats on the floating market, but I would say that it's definitely worth trying to.find other people to go with as 500pesos is a bit steep for a small group.
There is also food on the river (200 pesos) and mariachi bands (150 pesos)
.
Maybe check what entrance you choose for the river as some are busier than others, and you want a busy one
