★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 15 years ago I was walking in this square when suddenly lost of people surrounded me asking me to take a picture with them. They said that happens once in a while to see a European guy walking in Papantla. Lovely place, lovely people, great food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice park. It is always full of people hanging out. Lots of food being sold and super cheap. You just wanna buy everything. I overindulge everytime. Lots of things start around 10 peses (50 cents), heck i got tacos for about 35 cents each. Also there are little shops to shop at. There is a catholic church where the Voladores of Papantla perform and has a great mural. Nice place to hang out and eat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ OMG!!! Speechless. Beautiful, no way you can miss it at night.. An experience like no other. History, folkloric dances, and the amazing lights/story telling every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Loved it big time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a pretty typical Mexican central plaza with a park and a central Kiosk marking "el centro de centro." Lots of street-food vendors around as well as vendors selling trinkets for tourists. One side of the plaza is dedicated to the church while the other three are lined with shops and restaurants. Lots of locals around, not a lot of foreigners. English is not widely spoken, not at all. Cool place to hang out in the afternoon/evening.
