Didn’t want to write this but I wanted to share my experience. The space is beautiful, the staff are so helpful, fun and kind, but there was some serious lack of oversight from the owners. My friend and I attended the events on opening day and while we jumped into a yoga class, our bags were picked up by a manager from a couch and taken to coat check. Later that day, my bag containing my wallet and passport and tons of stuff wasn’t in coat check. While the staff was so generous in helping me search for it, one of the owners said they would reach out to the dozen or so guests that were there. They told me several times they reached out to all the guests (and didn’t reach out to anyone at all) and then that their policy was that they aren’t responsible for items that go missing (even though their staff picked it up). After missing out on my travel plans and having to replace all my stuff, a month later, a Yayem member contacted me to let me know he found my bag in his bag. While I’m grateful to have my stuff back, he said he was only contacted by the owners to see that he had a good time. They were not only dishonest but kept telling me they “messaged everyone and took the matter very seriously” when they didn’t. I enjoyed my time with the Yayem community but the negligence speaks volumes and unfortunately, cost me a lot in the end.
