I checked out this spot because it’s rather rare to come across sushi restaurants specifically for hand rolls. My favorite hand roll restaurant is in LA called Kazunori and I wondered how this one would compare. The seats are a bit limited. The staff was nice. My favorite roll was the eel, foie gras and truffle. It’s so decadent and over-the-top delicious that I ordered 2! It is one of my favorite sushi rolls I’ve ever had! The hand rolls were okay. The rice made particularly for hand rolls, in my opinion, actually is very hard to perfect. I don’t think this place has done that. Also, the fish inside the roll needs to be finer in texture. I ordered a crab hand roll and I was majorly disappointed. The texture of the crab was too cooked and stringy. There were lumps of crab meat inside the hand roll. Here’s the thing, that’s somewhat okay in a cut roll. However, with hand rolls, it’s very hard to eat. I’d come back here for the sushi rolls but definitely for the hand rolls though. Sorry, chefs. They also ran out of tuna and clams when I was there. How do u run out of tuna?!?? Porque?!?

The only place I know for simple traditional sushi. Excellent I actually have a tattoo on my arm from 2007, of sushi inside a Mayan glyph. It's a prediction that one day sushi will come to Mexico. Finally the prophecy has manifested Want to make this place even better? Offer free tea. That's very Tokyo. Either way, you'll be seeing me again. Gracias

Edit: I’ve been 3 times since, and tonight they charged me in a way that didn’t sit well. I wanted to foie gras truffle roll, they told me they didn’t have any truffle. I could still get the roll and it would be cheaper. But on the bill they charged me 200 pesos extra for the roll ($10 added to the original $20 roll) cause… they had to treat it as “nigiri” with added foie gras. So I paid $10 more for the same roll without any truffle which IS the pricey item. Not very cool, especially since I come often and spend a fair amount usually. Original: Who knew the best sushi of my life would be in Mexico City, not NYC, not SF, not LA, but right here. I expected my bill to be twice as expensive, so not only is it delicious, it’s very affordable for the quality. Don’t second guess yourself, just go!

The eel foie aioli roll is out of this world! Outrageously expensive for Mexican standards but awesome nonetheless! Loooved the place. We also had (and loved) the salmon avocado roll (I know, too basic right?) and it was simple but delicious, as was the shiitake seaweed!!!! Do NOT expect to walk away as rich as when you came in though!

First good sushi experience I’ve had in CDMX. Amazing nigiri and rolls, a lot of choice, laid back vibe, great service. Shisito peppers are a must!

Really nice patio area, screens with planted bamboo. Had a wonderful shitake mushroom and avocado roll. Mushroom was marinated or pickled. Really nice change.

For me this place has the best nigiris in Mexico City, perfect portions of every ingredient, everything fresh. Been here a couple times and never had a bad experience. Recently had omakase and is absolutely a recommended experience. Don’t miss some mochis for dessert, particularly in love with the matcha one. Good service and cozy place, make a res and you won’t regret :)
