Argel was a perfect guide for sightseeing around Merida. Very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. His knowledge of the region and history makes for a wonderful and educational day! From the Mayan history, to where to eat and the best Cenotes. He knows it all! I would recommend Argel to anyone who has high expectations as to what a guide will offer!

We did three tours with Yucatan Awesome tours (Argel) - Uxmal, Chichen Itza and Celestun and also used his driving services and I can't recommend Argel enough. It was like having a friend in the Yucatan. He's a very knowledgeable and personable guide and we enjoyed our tours with him immensely and learned so much. He really helped us to get the most out of our trip! Also, he went above and beyond. He was on hand throughout our trip to answer any questions we had or provide assistance - which was especially helpful since neither my friend nor I had been to Mexico or spoke much Spanish! A guide that works with him (Gener) was also fabulous. We're so happy we chose Yucatan Awesome tours!

I contacted Argel and he sent all the details I requested, we got 4 main tours with him and his colleagues and it was brilliant, he got water, comfortable transportation and they share their knowledge about the Mayan culture, the cenotes, the convents and local food and traditions. We had a most wonderful guided trip with Argel Pedro during our recent journey to Mérida. His services were arranged by our hosts at The Diplomat Hotel and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Argel arrived promptly on the morning of our trip to Chichén Itzá in order to avoid the largest crowds. His vehicle was clean and comfortable and he was even willing to stop by an ATM for us to get some extra spending cash for the day’s excursion. Argel was very friendly, incredibly informative and quite knowledgeable about the area’s rich history. It was abundantly clear that he is also well respected amongst the corps of guides at Chichén Itzá, as he was warmly greeted by several other guides upon our arrival and as we strolled around the grounds. Once we left the ruins, Argel took us to two different cenotes: Yokdzonot, which was open, and Chihuán, which was completely closed and underground. Both were very different and extremely cool. Really unique experiences! Lastly, we visited the town of Izamal. We had an absolutely terrific lunch at Kinich ~ highly recommend a visit to this festive eatery. Delicious food, great service and we even got to meet the hardworking chef herself. After lunch, we climbed to the top of the town’s remnant Mayan pyramid and then drove over to the monastery and walked around and explored the grounds there. It ended up being a very full day and one of the most memorable parts of our entire 12-day trip to Mexico’s beautiful Yucatán Peninsula. Many thanks for a wonderful and informative trip, Argel!

Angel is a prince! You could not ask for a better tour guide and driver. Besides being a kind and gentle soul, he is incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly loves sharing the history, culture, and other highlights of the region. This was my first trip to Merida, and I knew very little about where to go and what to do. Angel made terrific recommendations, and was always either on time or early for pickups. Yet he was still super flexible and easy going regarding last minute changes of plan or stops for whatever. I’d recommend him in a heartbeat. I only wish I could clone a European version of him to show me around Italy and Spain.

Argel is very friendly and very professional. He speaks English well and shared a lot of interesting knowledge about the sites we saw. I was extremely happy to have him as our driver/guide and do not hesitate to recommend him to others!

Angel was such a wonderful guide. We ended up using him for our entire vacation. He suggested additional places to visit that we had not considered. He really added some awesome experiences to our time In Merida. We can’t wait to use his services the next time we visit. We felt very comfortable with the health and safety protocols he employed.
