Excellent place, beautifull view, warm helpfull people, nice rooms, tasty food. Full recomendation.

Before booking, we were told that the internet works in the hotel. We need internet every day. But later we found out that it didn't work at all. We asked the hotel several times if they could take care of it, unfortunately nothing improved. We had to use the hotspot of our mobile phones every day. Two cards were empty afterwards. When we checked out, we then asked if the hotel could accommodate us in terms of price. Unfortunately, the hotel did not even apologise with a single peso or a free cocktail. The hotel only said they had a bad internet provider. In the surrounding hotels, the internet works well enough. Hotel guests from these hotels told us. In the reviews you can see that this problem has existed for a long time. Very sad :(

we are delighted with the service at this hotel. we were greeted with a welcome drink, everyone is nice and smiling. the food is delicious, I especially recommend the octopus. perfect location, beautiful view outside the window. Mrs Jo helped us with arranging transport to get to Chiquila and is generally helpful every step of the way. All three of us found that if we return to Rio Lagartos we will definitely go to this hotel

The hotel is in front of the lake and the room has a very nice view. However you may find better options in Rio Lagartos. The hotel is not cheap and it should not be called a boutique hotel . It’s basic and looks run down and old. There is no wifi in the room. The hot water is not sufficient for more than 3 minutes. Our bedroom window had a big crack. Even if the staff is friendly, the restaurant is mediocre and expensive.

The food service in the restaurant is good, the staff is very helpful and kind which is why I couldn't give it 2 stars; the food is okay. However, I wouldn't recommend to stay in the hotel as price - quality relation is not good, first of all the hotel staff should also pay attention about the comfort and rest of their guest and for me it was not case... During the night other guests were running and screaming until 2 a.m. and it passed unattended... Secondly, the hotel is neglected, there are cracks in the walls, our fan didn't worked and it looked like needed a proper installation because it felt like it would fall at any time, also the hot water only lasted for 3 minutes maximum so if you pretend to use the bath tub for a relaxing warm bath you should settle for a cold bath. Finally, for foreigners visitors I would strongly recommend you consider the weather conditions during your visit as it may highly affect how enjoyable is your stay... Also if you want to visit the Coloradas and have the tour in Rio Lagartos it would be better to arrive early and return to a comfy hotel in Mérida for a lower price and with better accomodations and vigilance about the guests comfort and rests.

Had a great dinner with Jose our waiter. Highly recommend their vegetarian soup and burger. Lovely selection of cocktails and spirits. In the end decided to be responsible and not try them all at once.

Beautiful place! The staff went above and beyond making us feel welcome. They speak very good English. Which helps a lot when on vacation. Especially our waiter Jose. He went out of his way to make it a magical evening. Food at this place is the best we have found in that area so far. We will definitely be back to stay at this hotel and restaurant. Thank you Jose!!
