Zandunga comenzó en la barra de la cocina, en la sala, el comedor o el patio, donde la gente llegaba a disfrutar los fines de semana de nuestras garnachas y cervezas de cuartito.

En el 2002 abrimos formalmente Zandunga en la calle de Quetzalcóatl; y un tiempo después nos cambiamos a García Vigil, cerca a la iglesia del Carmen Alto.

Hoy contamos con 2 sucursales, pero seguimos cocinamos con amor y respeto; agradeciendo a cada comensal que nos selecciona para comer y para celebrar con sus seres queridos.

Nuestro compromiso es otorgarle a la gastronomía istmeña, el lugar que se merece, como una de las mejores cocinas del estado de Oaxaca.

I think it's a great restaurant... but I found a strand of hair in my dish. When I told them they just said sorry. I didn't want to finish my meal after what happened and therefore I was hungry when I left. I think they should have suggested more than a sorry. It is disgusting when that happens. Especially when you don't expect that because it's not street food, it's a fine dining. Bad service. We paid for the dishes and we left tip. It would be nicer it they treated us more nicely.

Beautiful place to have a modern oaxacan-style dinner. Great service and GREAT cocktails, remember to try them. I’m giving it 4 stars because of their prices as they are quite elevated but really delicious place with great bar.

The BEST meal we had in Oaxaca. Excellent food and great cocktails. Don't miss the costillas extra with the tlayuda or the Ixtaltepec cocktail!

Wonderful tamales and margaritas. Naturally gluten free and gluten friendly options due to corn-based entrees. Plenty of vegetarian options also. Friendly staff! I noticed some people connected on ‘strand of hair’ in their dish, but this is most likely the fibers of the banana leaf used in the cooking. Looks exactly like that, so don’t worry!

Overrated. I came because so many food bloggers said it’s a must try, but I could have done without the perfunctory service and overpriced food. I ordered the Oaxaca black mole tamal and it was meh. I’ve had better at random stands at mercados for 1/4 the price. When I didn’t finish most of my food, nobody seemed to care. I ate half of the complimentary amuse bouche, since it wasn’t hood. Some sort of fish. I also only ate a few bites of my already small tamal and left 2/3 of it. It was alright, but I guess the tasteless amuse bouche and uninviting but polite service didn’t make me want to stay. I just paid my bill and left. Is the tamal that I ordered good? It was fine. It wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t worth the price. The vibe didn’t justify the price either. I think you should go to another restaurant if you only have so many meals to be had in Oaxaca, ya know?

Phenomenal. Exquisite flavors and the presentation of fine dining, yet the restaurant feels very welcoming. The terrace is a lovely to sit during lunch time. The two mole enchiladas tasted and looked incredible.

This is an excellent restaurant with a great service and the flavor of meals are amaizing. You'll enjoy to spend time there with familia or friends.

The place is beautiful. Impossible to walk by and not be attracted by it, and it only gets better as you go in. The food was excellent, the prices are reasonable and the service outstanding. Definitely a must when in Oaxaca!
