Amazing meal, the chef is incredible - great cocktails and music too. Can't wait to come back

We ate here our first two nights in El Cuyo. The service, setting and food are all exceptional.

We have been in El Cuyo for three weeks and have tried almost every restaurant here. So happy this amazing restaurant just opened while we are visiting because it is now absolutely our favorite restaurant in El Cuyo. Great food and friendly owners. Love the fish of the day! This is a real gem, make sure you have a meal here! Currently open Thursday through Sunday for lunch and dinner.

I never felt such complete disrespect at any place that provides a service. The place is very small and was very crowded. Tables are very close together. After waiting for 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge our presence it became impossible to be there. Everyone at 3 tables around us was smoking. It was almost suffocating. We got up and left. The owner noticed and asked why. When I said that it's because of the smoke, she looked away and said nothing. This shows zero respect for her customers. She should've at least looked at me, acknowledged me, and said that she's sorry. Food might be great here, but if there is no respect for your customers - is it worth it? This is a new place in El Cuyo that contradicts the essence of Cuyo - warmth of it's people, love of nature, healthy and conscientious activities and food. The owners of Zapote brought atmosphere of Playa del Carmen with them. Drinking and smoking is the theme here and lack of acknowledgement of their customers. I almost felt like I'm in Playa. It's people like this and places like this that are going to make Cuyo another Playa or Tulum. Sad. Very sad for Cuyo.

Excellent service and food. Alex is a gifted chef. He blends flavors very well. The server was so friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if in El Cajon.

We stumbled across Zapote on their opening night and it was just perfection! Charming service, relaxed vibe, pretty decor and the yummiest food of our entire stay in El Cuyo. Maria and Alejandro have created a dream!

AMAZING! Delicious, fresh, ingredients led cooking in the quaint rustic courtyard of the owners home. Charming service, nice ambiance. Great value.

Really amazing, super tasty food. Best salad I’ve had in a long time and the short rib was excellent! Great service, atmosphere and super reasonable prices. Would go again tomorrow but have to leave!
