About Zócalo de Atlixco

It is a nice place to go, especially in December as they have 'Villa Iluminada'. You can take some guide tours. It is a bit affected because of the earthquake that happened in September... but it stills nice to visit. You will not regret.

Its an awesome place, I can tell you that it's a good side to enjoy with your family or relationship, you can take a cup of coffee, go to some restaurants and take a beer... In the middle of the garden there is an coffee Italian restaurant and that it's too nice. There's too, the Municipal Palace in front of. I recommend 45% (it depends what kind of place are you looking for).

The church in el Zócalo of Atlixco was once considered the most beautiful church in Mexico. The town itself is very colorful and most of the tourist attractions are just a few blocks away, we took a short tour in a small 6 seater tour bus at 60 pesos per person and they were very thorough covering the history of the town. We were also told by a local that we couldn't leave without trying their local speciality "cecina" which is a very thinly sliced steak cooked and cut in strips (for tacos). So we headed to the market, 2 blocks away from the Zócalo and had some delicious cecina tacos with nopales, fresh cheese and aguacate on blue, green and purple corn tortillas! We left with very fond memories of Alixco =)

Great place to stop by and take a break from the busy town of Atlixco. Lively town with lots to do, shop, and eat. In Atlixco you can find anything from clothes, shoes, children toys and fresh foods of all types. Decorated for the holidays as well, recommend to stay late to see the center light up
