★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super cool architectural decorations and ruler tomb, la tumba del rey. The site is much bigger that what it seems at first.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stunning. A lot more than a few bumps in the jungle as others have described. Pre dates Chicken It's and Cons by 700 years.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very deep in middle of jungle. Ruins are just that ruins. Not built up but if you want to go deep to see you can see old ruins. The road is very bumpy and there is not much signage.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a beautiful, special site, quite spread out with a large number of ruins that you can climb. We spent maybe two hours there, and saw no more than 8 other people. It's peaceful and can be explored freely. Absolutely worth the visit if you're looking for something that you can take your time and experience quietly. When we were there the entrance fee was 50 pesos, but the Mayan caretakers were away from entrance, so it was a bit confusing at first. Simply pay them when you find them or they find you. (And they're well worth supporting if you're feeling more generous—they basically keep the site clean because it's their town's heritage.)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited these Mayan ruins in the early 2000s on a study abroad program through Texas Tech University with Professor Charles Klein.
Great experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Top 3 ruins in Mexico, so peaceful and wild at the same time. No mass tourism. Do go but don't tell everyone. And keep it clean!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great site to visit ruins. Fairly expansive and not very busy at all. It’s very peaceful and somewhere that you can take the time to absorb it all in without the crowds jostling for photos. The area is maintained extremely well by the local Mayan community, so by visiting you’re also contributing directly to the local economy!
