★ ★ ★ ★ ★ En 2004, El Charco del Ingenio fue consagrado como Zona de Paz por el Dalai Lama, líder del pueblo tibetano y Premio Nobel de la Paz, durante su visita a México. Fueron cinco las zonas de paz declaradas en distintos puntos del país. Se trata de espacios libres de violencia y de armas, dedicados a la conservación de la naturaleza y al desarrollo comunitario.
 In 2004, El Charco del Ingenio was consecrated as a Zone of Peace by the Dalai Lama, leader of the Tibetan people and Nobel Peace Prize winner, during his visit to Mexico. There were five declared peace zones in different parts of the country. These are spaces free of violence and weapons, dedicated to nature conservation and community development.
