very dirty, animals are living on fallen leaves and part of trees, crowded and noisy. actually mexican kids and adult behavior is tragic so animals are stressed. Actually i dont understand why Chinese gave them pandas to third world zoo :/ btw learn another language you are not alone on the earth!

The biggest attraction is the panda. That's why it's a good idea to choose a tour early in the morning, when he's not resting after eating :) The walk in the zoo is pleasant and sometimes you will see some animals (bear, monkeys, jaguars, tiger etc).

Our intent was to go to the anthropology museum on a Sunday but we ended up being to the this zoo as the museum was closed. Had a good time strolling around and check out the gigantic zoo. Looks like there are all sorts of animals and many breeds in them too. Very few of the enclosures are closed, we got to glimpse most of them. Monkeys were the most active one’s, some of them have even put up a show attracting a lot of crowd with their acts. Pandas were lazing, may be it’s time around lunch and all of them are sleeping. Missed checking out the giraffes. Be prepared to walk a lot as the zoo is super huge. Don’t forget to get water bottles. Admission is free for most part of it. Only to watch the butterfly and insect enclosures, we have to pay. Also, to use the restrooms. Generally maintained clean, most of the animals looked healthy. Must visit if you’re in the city.

It is quite frustrating, the place is in decline and the animals are neglected, too many vendors, street clowns and the whole area feels insecure, everything in the place is extremely expensive$$$$ The users are quite unpleasant, absolutely ordinary people and have a mixture with deluded foreigners. Everything looks terrible to show off or recommend going The exhibition of Insecta was disregarded with so much informal trade and current nefarious users Free synonym of nasty people So ?

When we went the ticket admission was free (on a Wednesday) so that was nice. They have a surprisingly grand variety of species! Was a little shocked to see Canadian geese in an exhibit though since I’ve never seen that before. Overall it is a decent size.

Everybody loves free admission. Seriously, it's great when public places are freely accessible for everyone. The zoo is really big and features a wide range of animals of all kinds. Unfortunately though, the compounds were anything but nice. Very dry or even concrete grounds and many of the animals were even suffering skin issues. It seems the animals do not get the best attention and are not necessarily held in a suitable environment. Snow leopards & penguins may not like 30°C as much as the giraffes or antelopes... Even the camels appeared in a poor condition. Weirdly, about a third of all compounds were simply empty: no lions, no tigers, not even goats... Hope they were cared for in the meantime. Overall it's a nice zoo to visit that even tries to advocate about ocean pollution, but if you visit, be aware that not even a panda can disguise the debatable conditions. Maybe we cann all speak more about ideal surroundings for the animals who call this planet home, just like we do!
