Really nice experience with our tour guide- Hector, Oscar and driver- Porfirio. Hector was speaking continuously in Spanish and English. It was a WOW experience. 13 Baktun Tours is a small agency but they all work very hard and are super friendly with us tourists. Had an amazing time. I had taken the Tulum, Muyil, Playa del Carmen and Cenote. Worth my time and money. Would recommend them 100%

Do not tour with this company, everything they do is to try to sell you something or scam you. Here is a summary of the several techniques they use to extract more money from the unwilling tourists: - Tell you in the middle of the tour that there are Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya-bearing mosquitos in the Mayan jungle, but did not tell you in advance that you needed to bring repellent. "Coincidentally", they sell a tiny bottle of it for 10 dollars, while street sellers in Chichén Itzá sell the same bottle for 3 dollars. No wonder the guides repeated several times that we shouldn't buy from the sellers on the street under the excuse of "they will give you change with fake bills"! - The guide will spend literally an entire hour on the bus talking about several pseudoscientific and mystical subjects (how people's moods make them "vibrate" in certain specific frequencies, pseudo-quantum physics, how the Moon affects babies being born, etc.), it was very very excessive and there was no way to turn my ears off, my ears were their hostage in the bus. All that serves for the sole purpose of psychologically softening and preparing the tourist for their grand scam: for $25, they will check out your Mayan horoscope to find out what kind of profession the Universe meant for you. That's right, 25 dollars for something you can probably easily find if you plug your birthdate on Google with the words "Mayan horoscope". - One of the stops is with a supposed "Mayan shaman" who does a fake ritual where gullible tourists hold a black stone that changes color after the "shaman" sprinkles some blessed water on the people holding them, supposedly because it "absorbed their bad energies". Totally nothing to do with it being a stone that changes color with water or with body heat, right... and coincidentally, they sell the same stone in the shop just nearby! - You are forced to pay $3 to use a lifevest in order to be able to swim in the Cenotes, which again they don't tell you about. - They take a photo of you during the trip, then in the return journey they offer you a bottle of Tequila with that photo on the label, which they then try to sell you as a "souvenir" for an outrageous price. Avoid these con artists like the plague.

Beyond worst experience with a tour company. The guide was beyond rude threatened to leave us at the small town because we were taking too long to purchase food for the 2 hour ride back. However in the morning they had no issue making us wait for 40 mins for two passengers that woke up late. Never have I had a company that I’m paying to take us and come back threaten to leave its customers there.

DO NOT GO ON THIS TRIP Here are the reasons why: 1. We were promised a visit to Tulum beach and snorkelling which did not happen. This was extremely disappointing 2. We were told by the people we booked it through that it was going to be 7am - 7pm and we would have breakfast and lunch included, in actual fact we were collected at 7am by a mini bus, driven for 15 mins up the road, dropped at a harbour with no communication. Then collected by another minibus which dropped us to another location where we stood around waiting to be told where to go. Although we were told a 12 hour day we got dropped back at 10pm which made it a 15 hour day (8 of those hours spent on the coach) we weren't given breakfast or snacks and didn't have lunch till 2:30pm 3. We were taken to 5 different places which all seemed to be rushed and ways of getting money out of us. This included being told there were dangerous mosquitoes and were swayed to buy repellent for $10. This was clearly a scam as no-one got bitten 4. The cenote we were taken to was beautiful but didnt have long there. We assumed we were going home after this as it was quite late but instead driven for another hour to playa de carmen which was rushed and by this point we just wanted to go home as it was 8pm and there wasn't enough time to get dinner there 5. They take you to see a Mayan Shaman ceremony which seemed like a lovely experience until they wanted you to buy overpriced stuff. If you don’t buy anything you end up standing around for a while We paid a-lot for this experience and felt like we were constantly being asked to pay for extras. The day was stressful and unenjoyable, would not recommend

I purchased 3 tours with this company. 2 that I actually completed(Chichen Itza & 4in1 Tulum/Coba Ruins) and the 3rd tour to Las Coloradas /Rio Lagartos that the company failed miserably. I woke up early in the morning on my PTO day from remote work, and I arrived to my confirmed hotel pick up spot(same hotel pick up as the other 2 tours) a half hour before the scheduled time, and the company claimed that they arrived at my pick up hotel destination and waited for me when it was not the case. It was a lie and I shared screenshots of my time waiting for a van or bus to pull up. No one ever showed up after waiting for so long. Another bus arrived to the hotel, but they were headed to Chichen Itza. So my overall experience with this tour company was horrible. I do not recommend them at all when you come to Cancun, Playa del Carmen, or Tulum. The other bad reviews are pretty accurate. The only highlight was my 1st tour guide named Rex. Very cool guy with a lot of knowledge of Mexican history.

This is a tourist Trap. Watch out. They will spend 14 hours touring you around and making sure to get as much money from you. Here are a few things to watch for of your doing this tour. 1. Mosquito spray. They will sell a small bottle for 10$ and tell you how scary they are. How you can get Malaryia and how there is 3 different types of Mosquitos. We unfortunately signed up for 2 tours. We did not see one Mosquito. 2. Expect 30 minutes per tour in a gift shop. They will leave you there and you can't stay in the bus. 3. Watch out for photos. They will take a photo of you early in the trip. Later on they will print it on a bottle of tequila and try to send it you for 400$ pesos. They will give you a story on how it's important to help the Mayan people. Be ready for many stories throughout the day. 4. Constant pressure. They will pressure you or advise you to always take the expensive option. You will hear another sob story. For example, they will explain to you why it's important to rent a Mayan cart bicycle when you can easily walk. They will say the distance is 4km one way when it's infact below 3km return. 5. Tips at the end of tour. They will give you another sob story and ask for tips at the end. They will either wait outside the bus with a basket if your lucky. Otherwise, they will walk down the bus isle asking each person for a tip. We tipped 1$ the first day and nothing the second. It'd basically all lies lies lies all day. We had had endure it for 2 days. I strongly recommend you don't use this company but some people seemed to enjoy it so do what makes you happy. If you don't care about throwing a bit of cash everywhere or saying no no no all day, the you might enjoy it. All this is expected of you after buying the tour.

Amazing tour and amazing crew. Jorge is a great host and kept the long bus ride entertaining. He was very knowledgeable about the Mayans and you can tell he loves what he does. I will be back in July with my kids and I’m definitely taking them on this tour.
