Great ways to discover the region, off the beaten path, all while respecting the ecosystem. Highly recommended!

The guide, BCU 4-eligible Eric Gonzalez was prepared, professional and knowledgeable of the area. The sea kayaks were in very good shape. It was a great trip, and we requested an additional day of kayaking, and were accommodated easily. Beautiful Lake Bacalar was a perfect choice, Active Nature a great outfitter.
J	Johannes Foerster on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best kajak trip in my lifetime! We took the 6 hours sunset tour, went through lagoons, saw dozens of water and jungle birds as well as Kolibris and parrots. Our guide Gunnar was amazing, he managed the whole tour so well. And he basically knew everything about the flora and fauna and about the mexican culture and mexican way of life. Part of the tour was an amazing evening meal with different fresh fruits, avocado, salad and a real yummy chicken-curry salad, of which we made great sandwiches. Water was included in the tour, safety was also great. Overall a wonderful experience with a great guide and an amazing price-value. Don’t leave Lake Bakalar before you take this adventure!

Bacalar is an amazing place and it was great for Gunnar to share his experience with us and show us around some cool beaches and small lagoons. We even had a bit of breakfast and frutas that he had kindly brought along for the trip. Highly recommend going with Active Nature! Just a bit sad we got plastic canoos (they are great) when he is riding in an amazing homemade wooden kayak ;)
H	Helen Anderson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highlight of my time in Mexico. I did a 6 hour kayak tour with the guide Erick - I was the only person so it was basically a private tour! We explored the quiet areas of the lagoon so didn’t see another soul until we were almost back to base and spent a lot of time just enjoying the silence and the nature. I think it was 4 main stretches of kayaking and 3 stops with swimming etc and inclusive of food for one. Great mixture of scenery, and a perfect tour for any level of kayaker given the still waters of Bacalar. It started at Ecotoucan which is a bit out of town, but taxi cost me 150 peso each way and approx 10 mins.
