I took Spanish classes here for a couple of months and I only have positive things to say. Classes were challenging and engaging and my teacher, Ana, was always responsive to student requests. I felt like I learned so much during my time here and made great connections with my classmates and all the teachers. I highly recommend stopping by and taking a class or two.

Ann, Ana and the rest of the team are amazing at what they do! My wife and I learned so much from them over several weeks, including specific Mexican Spanish slang so we could communicate with our friends. Teaching a language is a gift that opens your heart and mind to a new culture, and at Agora they give that gift freely and lovingly. The cost is also very reasonable! We highly recommend the extracurricular activities like cooking classes - lots of fun!

Agora is a superb language school. Ana is a fantastic teacher who gives lessons that are a perfect blend of grammar, natural conversation, and interesting history. I learned so much at Agora and am very grateful!

I highly recommend Agora Language Center. The teachers Ana, Isabel, Janet, Lulu etc. are qualified, native speakers and have genuine interest in teaching. The quality of teaching has been above my expectation, all tailored to my needs. Anne Calderon, the director, is an amazing, professional and warm person, always ready to help! I had an incredible two months of classes at Agora. The owner Anne speaks fluent English, Spanish and French, is extremely friendly and accommodating and makes a mean coffee. Class size was a maximum of 4 so there was always plenty of interaction. My teacher Ana was always engaging, full of energy and arrived with a thought-out lesson plan every day, but was also flexible to all of our needs. I also really enjoyed the cooking classes run by Isabel every week! Highly recommended

I enrolled my two daughters (13yr old & 7yr old) for private individualized classes 3xs a week for 2.5 hrs each day (7. hrs a week) from June-Aug. 2021. It was the BEST decision I made. We travelled from California to Playa del Carmen with the express mission of spending our summer in Mexico and immersing our girls in the local culture and language. Agora Language Center was the perfect choice for my girls. I was worried that the girls would complain about school during the summer and that they would feel bored or overwhelmed...I had nothing to worry about. My girls LOVED the school. In fact, they asked for more hours. All the teachers were so good at engaging our girls and making the learning and practicing of the language fun. They would play games, discuss shows, do art and play charades...all with the aim of having the girls practice and speak the language. I was VERY impressed with how good the teachers were in engaging my two very different girls. Each time we went, they would do different activities...sometimes they would read, others they would speak and also read. To make it extra fun, they would bring different teachers and students together and play games and/or have fun competitions and as I waited for my girls in the office area, I could hear the howls of laughter coming from everyone. More than once, my girls would come out of their respective classes dancing and chattering away about what they practiced/learned that day. Of particular note...they were AMAZING with COVID protocols. Everyone was vaccinated, they had disinfectant as you came in, and hand sanitizer everywhere. Honestly, Playa del Carmen had it together! Almost everyone was using masks and they took your temperature each time you entered a store. I was so impressed! The location of the school was in the middle of Playa Del Carmen which made for tourist activities convenient. Anne (the owner) has created a welcoming and comfortable space to learn. We rented a condo on AirBnB and walked to class. There are tons of restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, etc. within walking distance of the school. It's totally centrally located. You can have group or private lessons at the school. We chose private due to our girls ages and different Spanish levels. Honestly...you can't go wrong with Agora...HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend! On our last day, they bought a Pinata for our girls and they had a blast.

Anna was an amazing teacher I had a great time vere and learned ALOT of Spanish, I am almost fluent after having studied here for about 3 months. Anne was a welcoming manager of the school. Recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn and have a good time.

Overall amazing experience, the teacher I had (Ana) was super friendly and comprehensive. You go for language schools (and obviously learn), but keep on coming back because of the amazing vibe(and don’t forget to ask about the cooking lessons every now and then !)… Thanks everyone at Agora !
