★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed in mid-Dec 2021. Excellent location and hotel. Very pleased! Would stay again.
We changed our hotel to Aldea Kuka last minute and we are glad we did! One of the best, cleanest, nicest hotels in the area. Great location... near the playa and sand bar but not too close to the entertainment area. Excellent value. We were impressed with how upscale it felt compared to the way more expensive Flamingo hotel. Way more pros than cons.
Pros:
One of the biggest pluses was the complimentary breakfast. Excellent food and we enjoyed it every day.
The Hotel was not overcrowded or busy feeling. Mostly adults.
Pool is very nice, but we spent most the time on the beach.
Great hot water and great water pressure*
Excellent management: Paola (Manager) was very accomodating and took care of us when we had a problem with our room without any hassle. We really appreciated her.
The grounds and hotel is very nice, well put together, clean and
The hotel was able to accommodate our pick up and drop-off well. Only a few issues trying to locate our guy at pickup points, which we worked out.
A/C works great.
Able to rent bikes daily.
The honeymoon suite was incredible.
Fantastic modern bathrooms
Beach front hammocks and chairs
A huge private outside area within the resort with big egg chairs, recliners and a relaxing area.
Hookah and Sushi bar.
Gym seemed nice but we never used it.
Cons:
The hot water is only on from 7-11 both morning and night. The problem is that when the sun goes down at 5:30, you want to come back and shower before dinner. We found ourselves anxiously waiting for an hour in our room till 7 to shower. Should be turned on a lot earlier, especially in the winter when the sun goes down earlier. Took a few cold showers but not a big deal. When the water is hot, it is hot for a long time.
Noise. Overall the place is very quiet. The problem is with the floors. Since it's all wood and made "ecologically", there is no soundproofing on the floor. If you have someone above you, it will sound like elephants are walking around. Every drop or chair move is extremely loud. If your upstairs neighbor is getting up early to catch a flight, you will wake up with them. Had to sleep with earplugs. It was bliss when no one was above us for a night or two.
The beach bar blasting dance music in the day - nobody hangs out there, no reason to make it a Cancun party. Overall it was not a problem.
Some of the rooms (I think the Mangle rooms) on the back of the resort face the utility road (and is not that pretty to look at. Although the patio is very beautiful and well made, the dumpsters and construction stuff takes away from the view (on just one far end of the hotel). Some new room construction going on downstairs in the Mangle area. I would upgrade to a nicer room location if you can. Not a deal breaker, but not ideal.
General notes:
Wifi works ok. You have to log in constantly, but we weren't there for the technology.
Bring a radio. No clocks, tvs, radios or phone in the room to call the front desk. I don't miss that at all, but nice to have your own radio for music.
Convenience store located right next door. Easy to buy cheap Cerveza
I would definitely stay again regardless of any of the cons. You will not be disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shame on me for not trusting the google reviews. This hotel is definitely not what you see in the pictures or what you expect to sign up for - by no chance is this a 5 star hotel nor is it adults only as advertised. The room was incredibly noisy, we asked to change to another room and it didn’t make a big difference. The AC in both rooms never worked so during the day it was impossible to be in the room. The first night the electricity went out, so there was no AC, fans, lights, or running water. Also, the reception is only open until 11pm so no one was around to help in case of an emergency or to even answer the main phone. There is a reason this hotel has 3.4 stars on this app. Listen to others and stay far away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is by far the best place I’ve ever been in my life. I’ve been in many places in the world but nothing compares to this. It’s completely eco friendly, the staff are the nicest people I’ve ever met and the manager rosalya and the owner Marco are very, very professional and nice. The rooms are equipped with everything you need. There are yoga lessons complementary, supping, free ice creams everyday, literally everything is there. The breakfast is so good as well.
I would recommend this place to everybody and we will be back next year.
Just to comment on the noise, yes the floors are wood so you do hear a bit more noise than in a regular stone building, but it was no problem for us at all. My parents where underneath loud people and where switched to another room immediately so very excellent service as well

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty looking hotel and nice yoga classes.
However it is by far the worst service I had from a supposed luxury hotel… Service at breakfast and bar was extremely slow and not professional
Please also note that the rooms are awfully noisy, you can hear all of your neighbours. Don’t even think about sleeping late in the morning. The manager told me it was because of the wooden structure but come on we are not in a camping…
If you plan to work remotely, the wifi is very bad.
In summary, extremely overpriced for the experience

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is magic. Authentic, impeccable service, great food and probably the best beach on the island. The staff is incredibly polite and helpful. Yes, you may hear other people while on your room but as long as long you have respectful guests that shouldn’t bother at all. It was one an incredible experience, can’t wait to be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a wonderful stay we actually booked a trip back with our kids next month. The hotel is eco friendly so noise (mostly soft speaking or doors shutting) is something you hear. Also there are limmited hours for showering with hot water but this is completely manageable. Not a complaint but to address some of the previous comments. For me the BEST part of the hotel was my massage with Raul!! I swear to got I breather and see differently after my 90 minute massage with him. He really is gifted and it was the best massage in my life. Will be back soon!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The room was VERY noisy, I could literally hear two people flirting in their room. It was cold. It had a very big gap underneath the door, that we've had to obstruct with pillows to stop the wind. There's no TV, which is not in the list but hey, I kinda take it for granted in 2022. The water pressure is very, very low, even in the moments when there is any water (it is not the whole day).
There's a lot of works going on, both inside and on the back road, resulting in noise, dust, and an ugly view.
The restaurant served us with mouldy frozen food, and the free included breakfast is very limited (2 choices).
Finally, the rooms might be adults only, but the rest of the facilities are not, so that it's a bit of a lie.
Oh I forgot about the water leaking from the AC upstairs!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have no clue where these negative reviews are stemming from. I’m here right now and it’s possibly one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. We’re from New York and have traveled the world for over 10 years staying at top hotels all over the world and this is in-line with 5 star hotels when it comes to service, amenities, etc. Every hotel needs a signature scent, and there’s is woodsy and fantastic and fits right in with the aesthetic. The hotel is built impeccably and you feel like you have tons of privacy especially with the room set up. We’re staying in the honeymoon suite with a second floor and view of the ocean. Additionally, the staff is incredibly kind and welcoming — they’ve taken care of every request we’ve had since we’ve arrived. They’re super professional as well. I haven’t heard loud music since we’ve arrived, although being in our 30’s, we wouldn’t mind some music, haha. Everything is top and I’d def come back and recommend to all friends.
