El Sueño Zapoteco is an art workshop with unmatched works in which they combine the symbolism of the Zapotec culture with classical techniques such as pointillism. All these works made by artisans who have been dedicated to this work since childhood.

I loved the work of this family, they explained the whole process to us in great detail, it is a true work of art.

What a fantastic visit we had at El Sueno Zapoteco. I had seen their alebrijes in a shop in Oaxaca City and was so impressed that we made a point of finding the artists in San Martin Tilcajete. We showed up unannounced and were greeted by the family with warmth and graciousness. They were so generous with their time. They explained the process by which they create their beautiful pieces, their philosophy as artists and even some of the history of alebrije-making. I used to live in Oaxaca and I have seen a lot of alebrijes, and I can say with confidence that these are among the most beautiful and sophisticated anywhere. What a beautiful visit we had with El Sueno Zapoteco. I had seen their alebrijes in a store in the city of Oaxaca, and I was so impressed that we went to San Martin Tilcajete with the desire to find the artists. We arrived without warning and the family welcomed us with kindness and warmth. They were so generous with their time. I lived several years in Oaxaca and I have seen many alebrijes, and I can confidently say that those of El Sueño Zapoteco are among the most beautiful and elaborate there are.
