AMBAR TULUM - Tulum Beach

One of my favorite places in the hotel zone. The music is always great, the drinks are delicious, and the staff are soo soo so accommodating and kind. Order the fish tacos and guac it’s amazing!! I met the best people here just having a good time together :) The managers- more notably Joshua- are always making sure everything is running smoothly and will help you with anything you need. Worst bar ever… they tried to charge me 10 dollar entry 30 mins before they close and I said no thank u… next minute the doorman/waiter pushed me. Awful place do not go in!

Found this place through the Instagram page @BlackinTulum and it was cool. There was a diverse crowd, the music selection was good, and the staff was nice. Beware! The restroom toilets don't flush and they don't have running water, so you have to clean your hands with hand sanitizer.

We celebrated my friend’s 30th and the staff at Ambar helped make it an incredible night! We were so well taken care of and it was by far some of the most fun we’ve had on our trip. Muchas gracias Alex, Brittany, David and all!

I concur with the reviews below, they charge service and force an additional *sneaky* tip on top. A round of 6 rum/cokes came up to £120. Super club prices at a dive bar. Shame on you.

Fun spot for drinks and food during the day in Tulum! On the pricey side but you will not be disappointed. I loved that they played reggaeton! This place is definitely poppin on Friday and Saturday nights with a DJ, so expect a party crowd on those nights.

Cool place and music, but they really scam customers with the prices. They charge much more than what it’s written on the menu, without notifying. Don’t go there you’ll be scammed

after a fabulous evening on Thursday in this bar, we went back the next day, always a great welcome... it didn't last long, we had a very insistent waiter to make us order alcohol, after having explained to him that we wanted to take our time, he made us change tables claiming that the one we were at was already reserved…LIE she remained free the rest of the time… Then he came with the bill when we were only at the beginning of the evening, given the final amount, I looked at the price of the service which was almost 20% I refused saying that it was too much given the quality of it and that I wanted to give only 10% , he told me that I had to pay and that was it. very disrespectful, insistent, heavy and very unpleasant !!! 20% service, it is not mandatory in Mexico it is between 10 and 20! you have no right to force people to pay so much.
