This is such a laid-back and quiet place. Kathy is just the best. She'll explain everything once you've arrived and take you by the hand. It is in quieter part of town but everything is a short walk to town. Beds are comfy and in the shared rooms there is a vote every night if the AC goed on or it'll be fine for just the fans on. The majority wins of course......??

This has been one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in! Met so many lovely people that similarly enjoy the more relaxed kind of hostel. Very much a gem in this part of the world. You get everything you need and more as a budget traveler. And the staff keep the facilities in immaculate shape. Kathy is an extraordinary host! She is a wealth of information on the best things to do on the island and is extremely involved in the local community. She'll even help get you deals on rentals for scooters/snorkel equipment, etc. So wait to book if you can!! ¡Muchas gracias Amigos Hostal!

I love this place, I have been there twice and stayed 3 weeks the second time. It’s quiet, it’s very clean, there is a nice garden with hammocks, a swimming pool with sunbeds, a kitchen with everything you need to cook, a poolgame and cute cats and turtles walking around. Kathy the owner and her son are very nice, they will take time to explain everything you need to know for your stay on the island and help you if you need anything like renting a scooter or a bike, booking a snorkeling trip for cheaper than anywhere else. I also had opportunities to talk in spanish with the cleaning lady who is also very nice (sorry I forgot her name), she helped many times. This place is also good to socialize with other travelers, most of the people who come here come for snorkeling or diving and it’s always nice to share experiences with others. I will definitely come back to this place if I have opportunity to stay in Cozumel again.

Excellent hostel. Clean, nice garden with lots of birds visiting, a pool, and good kitchen that is cleaned daily. Hammocks and sofas in the common areas. We stayed in the private room for a week and really appreciated Kathy's very in depth and passionate intro to Cozumel. The information books are full of great tips including places to snorkel and more. Highly reccomended.

It's a lovely hostel with a fair price. The outside space is really amazing and the room with 10 people still has enough space. They also give every guest a lot of information about the island. I think so far it was the best place i stayed at.

I've traveled a lot and this was one of my favorite stays. Kathy is a wonderful hostess and provides all of the information you need. I was a little concerned walking to the property that there wasn't much to eat in the neighborhood, but I was wrong! It's very close to anything you could want to eat. The property itself is gorgeous and the pool and hammocks provide a wonderful space to spend the afternoon. As a diver, it was nice to be in a place where people are respectful of people getting up early. That being said, it's a great place to meet people and have some drinks and fun after a day of diving. You can tell that Kathy cares about her place and Cozumel in general. Stay here, you won't be disappointed

It's the kind of hostel you want to come back to. First of all the owner, Kathy, is so lovely! She's the best host, gives you a warm welcome and is so helpful if you need anything. Second, the garden with pool and the patio makes is feel really spacious. Third, the people staying there (and it's never more than about 18, because it's two dorms and a private double room) are so nice. Everybody chats with each other, is respectful towards each other and mostly stays here with the same goal, diving. So when you're looking for a party hostel it's not to place to go to. But if you're looking for a hostel where people (young and old) can enjoy Cozumel to the fullest, relax, meet like-minded people and have fun this is the place to stay.

When you get off the ferry it is 17 minute walk. I thought at first it was far until we got to the destination and it wasn’t that far at all. This place has an great location, it’s near the fresh market, a few great restaurants near by. Kathy is a fantastic host, she will tell you all the best places to eat, to get laundry done and the best tours. Her staff are very nice & they have really good cleaning standards. It’s a very laid back chill hostel with a pool. I would recommend anyone to stay here for a relaxed & comfortable stay on the island. Thank you Kathy for the amazing experience. Cheers.
