They supposed to refund me 70$ transactions and 288$ transactions! Instead of this amount i have got on my bank account 60$ and 252$! The difference it is so big because when they refund money back they do in pesos at the lowest cost of money exchange rate! Shame on you-hungry money ?

The shuttle service is a complete rip off you can get a taxi way cheaper !! I used the shuttle services from the airport to my resort and I was crammed inside and not to mention we had to make serveral stops along the way to drop off other passengers at various resorts. We ended up canceling the services 2 days in advance for the departure and they wont give me a refund and are giving me the run around. Avoid this company they are scammers!

AMSTAR COZUMEL/RIVIERA MAYA Sadly, it was dealing with Amstar, that made this vacation end on a completely sour note. We stayed at a hotel in Akumel for one week and made arrangements through the Amstar desk to travel to Cozumel same hotel chain for the second week. Booking it through the at the hotel was apparently too complicated - we needed to do it through an agent on the phone, while sitting with the Amstar rep. It should have been easy - Transport from Akumel to Playa Del Carmen ferry dock - tickets on ferry to Cozumel - transfer from Cozumel dock to hotel. No one was waiting with ferry tickets in Playa (although we hade been charged on our Visa for this service). We ended up waiting with the driver for over 30 mins while he talked with Amstar. Nothing! We bought our own ferry tickets and ended up being picked up in Cozumel After arriving at the hotel and going to the Amstar desk and explain the situation and ask for a refund for the ferry portion, I was given the Run around for 5 days. Still no refund. At this point not feeling especially confident in Amstar ability to service their clients. Took almost a week to get pick-up confirmation to get back to the Cancun airport. We were assured repeatedly, be several reps that there would be no problem. Pick-up at hotel good, drop off at ferry in Cozumel and met by Katreena. No fairy tickets (ggrrrrrr) at this point we have had enough. She takes our pictue so our driver Hernando will know who to pick up on the Playa side near Senor Frogs. Again, we waited over 30 minutes. No show by Amstar driver. WE ended up paying for a taxi to airport. This entire trip was prepaid!! I have never been treated so poorly by a transportation service. We travel several times a year to Mexico, and have used Amstar in the past with no problems. This was beyond the ridiculous.. Update: January 30th - we will have not received a refund or response.

Terrible service! We were going to be picked up at hotel to go the airport and the driver never arrived. We had to look for taxi.

Black car service was excellent. Always ready and waiting for us. Car always had cool beverages and snacks. Friendly drivers.

These people are thieves. We booked transportation in advance. They were supposed to pick us up upon arrival. However, there was no one there waiting for us, so we had to book separate transportation to our hotel and pay additional. We were cordial in asking for a refund of our funds and they denied it and stopped responding to our requests. Do not use this service or if you do, at least make sure to book with a card that allows for chargebacks.

Used Amstar for transportation from Cancun to Resort (Barcelo) last year and paid for private transportation, no issues. This year, I decided to pay for non-stop but potentially shared transportation. When I was greeted at the airport, it was acknowledged that I was non-stop. Then another Amstar rep approached me and looked at my paperwork and said "I have a shuttle going to Barcelo now, you can join." Perfect, 30 second wait. Then I joined a large charter bus but Barcelo has 6 properties all in a row and it was leading into Christmas, so I didn't think anything about it. Then we stopped at other resorts (The Fives, Corasol, and Hard Rock) which added a lot of time to the trip as these resorts were not close to the highway. There was also a group of ~17 that had paid for non-stop to Barcelo that was on this bus, they were equally annoyed and Amstar could have easily put us in two vans direct to Barcelo. When I met with the Amstar rep the next day to set up my return transportation I shared my experience the day before, she apologized and shared she'd email customer service to obtain a full refund, however, I don't know if she ever did. My travel agent has only received a "we're looking into it" response. I am very disappointed that those at the airport don't care what you paid for and only focus on getting people out of the airport. Amstar, you're better than this and need to re-evaluate how you handle your customers...and provide full refunds to those that you treated poorly including me. The only reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is that I had no issues with return transportation to the airport (in fact, I was 4 hours early arriving at the airport which was also annoying as I could have arrive 2-3 hours early without any issues).

Do not use Amstar. There are better CHEAPER FASTER companies you can book. The drivers and representatives DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. They are SCAMMERS and will take advantage of you. ANTONELLA DOMINGUEZ at SUNSCAPE AKUMAL RESORT is an Amstar rep at the resort. She is very aggressive and rude and set up a taxi scam on me for my return transport to the airport. The driver never called my name and left without me. Then the bell man ran to me saying they left. (Which means they knew I was there and said nothing). Then Antonello comes to me saying I need to get my own taxi. She didn’t bother to call the driver to come back. She is very masculine and aggressive. He/she should not be in customer service. Combative. She set me up with a taxi who gave me a signed receipt for $85. Once I arrived to the airport the taxi driver held my bag hostage until I paid her $150. So, I was out my money I paid for Amstar, the ride, then the taxi scammed me. DO NOT USE AMSTAR DO NOT USE SUNSCAPE OR ANY AMRESORTS. I posted Antonello’s picture so you know to avoid her. She is short and muscular like a man, with tattoos and a rat face.
