Aquatech Villas DeRosa Resort - 77776 Akumal

Location is great, directly at the beach. Unfortunately building seems a bit outdated, rooms as well. Our fridge was dirty. We had a small room to the back site. Food was good, but pricey compared to public Mexican food.

This place was awesome. We went in the off season in August, but during that time is when the sea turtles are laying eggs and hatching. Every night up there we saw both. Tony and Sammi were so great. Anything we needed they were there to provide. A hurricane ended up coming in during our stay and they made sure we were safe. They checked in constantly and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. I was initially nervous as I’ve never been in a hurricane, but I felt so comfortable when it did come in. We weren’t just treated as guest, they made us feel so welcome and knew us by name. It was a five star treatment with the smaller personal touch.

Beautiful views on the beach. We loved being able to walk from our room to the beach to snorkel. We saw such incredible sea life without even leaving the beachfront at our hotel. Beds are super comfortable and the staff went out of their way to ensure each person had a great experience. We will definitely be staying here again.

In the middle of nowhere. One half mile walk on a dirt road to main highway to catch shuttle. Not lit at night. Otherwise must use taxis or have a rental car. Bus from Cancun dropped us off on the side of the highway. Gorgeous beach.

outdated no real maintenance in years. Rusty showers and fridgerator. No way to close wooden louvered windows in bedroom to block out loud noises such as slamming doors, voices, cleaning personnel vacuuming etc all amplified in a echoed hallway. Rap music played at the bar which was a few feet awayfrom your beach chair. Dogs running around beach chairs pooping. No sleep was ever had and constantly missing sides on dinners ordered. Won't be back.

I have been here several times. Excellent and informative staff. Comfortable rooms excellent location. Transportation to and from Cancun Airport can be arranged by owners/staff. Food available on site

We stayed at the Villas DeRosa for three days and we loved this place a lot. The room we had booked was actually an apartment with a large living and dining area, a well-equipped kitchen, bedroom with a closet and other furniture and a sprawling balcony. It honestly did not feel like a hotel, it felt like home and it would be perfect for families to stay for longer duration too. Right from our apartment patio, we could witness one of the most gorgeous views of the Mexican Caribbean. The manager Tony is a very friendly man and he has an very interesting story to share (I won't give away more ?). The chef here has magic in his hands and while you are here do feast on their FRESH pizzas, heavenly chillaqullies, lemon tortilla soup, fresh fruit bowls, juices and a lot more of delicacies. It was hard to leave such a beautiful place where one would wake up to the songs of the sea. The sea is crystal clear and beautiful and it is right at this resort's threshold. We would love to be back here someday soon. I also appreciate the resort's commitment towards important pursuits such as conservation of nature, reusability and a very minimalistic yet comprehensive style of hospitality.

My family stayed here for Spring Break. Although the place was not 100% modern it was exactly what we needed. It was simple and elegant with plenty of room to stretch out and a terrific view of the beach! Tony, the manager, of these family-owned Villas gave us his phone number and was extremely responsive with everything from room service to restaurant, shopping, and cenote recommendations. He even helped us get our car rental straightened out. The distance to the beach, lounge chairs, and shade accommodations couldn't have been better. They have kayaks available for free. Snorkeling gear is available for rent.
