Such a wonderful & well preserved site that still permits exploration. Definitely worth the trip off the beaten path.

It's very very hot so dress accordingly. It was a beautiful place and one of the only ruins they still allow ppl to climb. The sites are well maintained bring mesquite spray. Lots to learn.

Nice Maya ruin that doesn’t have a lot of tourists. Entire site is compact and easy to get around. You can climb all the structures. It’s open at 8 am.

Went as part of an excursion through Carnival Cruise lines. What a great day! The only thing that could have made this site more enjoyable would have been more time to enjoy all there was to look at.

We had an English version tour guide who wear earrings shown us around the ruins. They're available to be hired at the entrance. 450 pesos per group. He is very knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend! I'm happy to support the local tour guide with a reasonable price. p.s. they also provide Italian, French, Spanish, and so on for tour.

Beautiful site, not many people visit it. You can climb every structure here. There's a drained cenote on the site, and you will spot many lizards of all kinds here. Highly recommend it! Entry fee 50 pesos.

Mayapan is an important place for understanding the history and prehistory of the Yucateco Maya culture. Visiting this relatively small archaeological site was one of the best experiences I have had of all the many sites I have visited. There were probably fewer than 20 people here on a Wednesday afternoon. Best of all there were no vendors following me around trying to sell cheap, Chinese made goods. One of the last sites where you can climb the the ruins. This now makes the experience unique. Highly recommended.

This was our favorite temple. It was quiet and plenty of information to read along the site. We are still able at time of writing to get close and climb the different structures. We loved it there. And we love the many iguanas who decided to make this place home. Great value. $65 pesos each. Definitely worth the visit
