★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excelente experiencia, se llega en auto por carretera pavimentada hasta la comunidad de Raíces, a partir de éste punto es terraceria hasta el Valle de los Venados, la entrada es de $50 pesos por auto (estacionamiento) aquí encuentras restaurantes, sanitarios y venta de ropa de invierno. Se puede subir al cráter en auto de martes a viernes. Los fines de semana hay transporte $50 pesos por persona en 25 minutos. En el albergue hay sanitarios $10 pesos. Son 15-20 minutos de caminata para ver el maravilloso paisaje de las lagunas del sol y de la luna y más espectacular cuando hay nevadas. Muy recomendable y accesible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El lugar es maravillloso, precioso y se requiere estar en forma para visitarlo. Relativamente limpio, solo algunas personas inconscientes de recoger su basura. Desafortunadamente en esta ocasión protección civil prohibió el ascenso hasta el cráter por las condisiones climatológicas que eran propensas a accidentes en los visitantes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El Nevado de Toluca, Xinantécatl es un volcán ubicado en el estado de México, es un excelente lugar para disfrutar de caminata y montañismo con amigos en pareja o en familia en algunas épocas del año se encuentra lleno de nieve , en le cetro del crátere hay dos lagunas hermosas que podrás recorrer caminando además de disfrutar una vista y paisajes espectaculares podrás tomar fotografías expectaculares, el costo por estacionamiento es de $50 por carro tiempo libre, puedes subir caminando o alguna camioneta de los locatarios viaje redondo $100 por persona el viaje redondo lo único malo de estas camionetas van muy llenas y por el tipo de camino el viaje es un poco agitado tomar precauciones, también hay que tomar en cuenta que se encuentra a 4645 metros sobre el nivel del mar por lo que se puede presenta malestar físico ocasionado por la dificultad para adaptarse a la baja presión del oxígeno a gran altitud el conocido mal de montaña.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Si van en auto particular recomiendo llegar temprano (antes de las 9:00 am) porque aunque el lugar en donde se pueden dejar los coches es amplio me toco ver como cerraron y empezaron a regresar autos. Cuesta $50 el estacionamiento todo el día.
Me comentaron que si van de Lunes a Jueves dejan subir automóviles particulares hasta la entrada del parque nacional. En mi caso nos tocó dejar el auto abajo.
En el área de estacionamiento es donde encuentras los puestos de comida, artesanías y demás. Desayuné cuando llegué (café de olla y quesadillas) que estaban ricas y de buen precio.
Lo que no está práctico es que sólo hay dos lugares para ir al baño y obviamente por la cantidad de gente que llega hay una fila enorme para entrar (sobre todo al de mujeres) así que recomiendo pasar al baño en el camino antes de entrar a la desviación para el nevado.
Puedes subir caminando por el bosque (me comentaron que es hora y media de trayecto) o puedes hacer fila para abordar las camionetas que hacen viaje para subir y bajar gente (25 minutos de trayecto) cobran $50 por persona al subir y $50 al bajar. Lleven gorra y agua para cualquiera de las 2 opciones :)
Fui en Enero 2022, no encontré tanta nieve como me hubiera gustado... pero pues eso es cuestión del clima y suerte.
Los paisajes son preciosos, desde que vas subiendo el bosque y la vista son lindos.
Ya que estás arriba todavía tienes que caminar como 20 minitos para llegar a los lagos y observar el nevado así que lleva zapatos cómodos y antiderrapantes ya que la tierra esta muy suelta y es fácil resbalarse porque son subidas y bajadas.
Arriba sólo hay un lugar para ir al baño así que esta peor la fila que en los dos lugares del estacionamiento. No venden nada arriba así que te recomiendo comprar algún snack y bebidas abajo y llevarlas para el camino.
Cuando baje comí tacos de asada y longaniza y me parecieron ricos también. Osea que es buena opción comer en el lugar. Venden de todo

In the parking area is where you find the food stalls, crafts and others. I had breakfast when I arrived (coffee pot and quesadillas) which were delicious and at a good price.
What is not practical is that there are only two places to go to the bathroom and obviously due to the number of people who arrive there is a huge queue to enter (especially the women's) so I recommend going to the bathroom on the way before entering the deviation for the snowy.
You can walk up through the forest (I was told that it is an hour and a half journey) or you can line up to board the vans that make trips to get people on and off (25 minute journey) they charge $50 per person to get on and $50 to get off. Bring a hat and water for any of the 2 options :)
I went in January 2022, I didn't find as much snow as I would have liked... but that's a matter of weather and luck.
The landscapes are beautiful, since you go up the forest and the view is beautiful.
Since you are up there, you still have to walk about 20 minutes to reach the lakes and observe the snow, so wear comfortable and non-slip shoes since the ground is very loose and it is easy to slip because there are ups and downs.
Upstairs there is only one place to go to the bathroom so the queue is worse than in the two places in the parking lot. They don't sell anything upstairs so I recommend you buy some snacks and drinks downstairs and take them for the road.
When I came down I ate tacos de asada and longaniza and they seemed delicious too. So it's a good option to eat on the spot. They sell everything

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un espacio espectacular, creo que para los que acudan por primera vez hago la siguientes recomendaciones:
-Ser responsables de su basura ya que no hay basureros.
-No llevar niños, sean responsables de las personas que lleven ya que se trata de caminar largos recorridos.
-Estar atento a su salud y no esforzarse más de la cuenta.
-Acudir muy abrigado, hay mucho viento en todo momento y mucho frío.
-Llevar alimentos ya que en el cráter no hay restaurantes.
Disfruten este majestuoso paisaje y ser responsables con el medio ambiente.
A spectacular space, I think that for those who come for the first time I make the following recommendations:

There is a parking lot close to the crater but it's an hour drive from the entrance parking lot and they only let you take your own car on certain days. However, they have vans that take you up for 50 pesos per person. At the top, the lakes in the crater are a must visit and the epic landscapes themselves are truly breathtaking.
