TACOS and MORE TACOS! If you're looking for a place to eat in the mid to late afternoon till early morning hours then Mercado La Cruz has a taco section that has a wide variety. Personally, I STRONGLY suggest Don Joaquin right at the front. Been going there for years and have tried most everything on the menu. Pozole is stellar at this location. You won't be able to get beer at most of the locations in here but with an Oxxo right down the street it shouldn't be too much of an issue if you REALLY want it that badly. Just a note, if you're foreign you will get some attention from some people asking for money or trying to sell you different things and interrupting your meal. Just take it in stride and with good humour and it shouldn't be too much of an issue. If you want a pretty authentic experience then brace yourself because this is about as authentic as it gets in Queretaro.

It's OK. Food is not that impressive. For being a Mexican Mercado, it is colorful, there are several different odours that attack you sense all the time you spend there: Flowers, food, sewage, drinks, sweets, fabric, bread, meat, etc. Prices are average, although for sure you'll find better prices than in a supermarket. It's worth paying a visit.
