One of two ATM machines with pesos. Runs out of money often. They don’t refill on weekends or holidays. Over Christmas weekend, it didn’t work and was out of money for 3-4 days. They refilled the Monday after around noon. The review below about extra fees is incorrect. That person’s own bank charged them a 3% currency conversion fee which is pretty standard with most American banks. This ATM only charges a flat 99 peso ($5) fee. The other peso ATM is on the road towards the ferry past the supermarket, at CI Banco. It’s not on the map at all, so we discovered it too late. Check it first as all other ATMs in town only give US dollars and charge $8 flat and 8% on top in fees. Then you have to change money at Cambio by the park at an inferior rate (better than airport but worse than a bank).

You can take out pesos but they have a 7% conversion fee. Go down the street to ClBanco and when it shows the conversion fee press decline and you will get the money without the conversion fee. ? I don't think there are any other options on the island

Tried to take out 4,000 pesos. The transaction was rejected at the ATM. No receipt provided for the failed transaction yet online my bank shows as a negative transaction. 3,000 seems to be the max. Beware

They will charge you an international ATM fee and a service assessment fee for each transaction that is a percentage of your transaction. Upon withdrawing $374.23, it charged me $5.00 and $11.23. That seems extraordinarily high and I don't occur fees like this when I typically travel throughout Mexico and abroad, but it is the ONLY atm in Holbox, so I guess it makes sense. Just beware. It also runs out of money regularly. It's been out the last two days.

Works fine, the ATM is up the stairs in what is now i completely white bulding. The atm takes a comission, but its not as bad as others so its ok. Only pesos and feelt safe.

CIBanco's ATM up the street was broken so I went here and was appalled at $15 worth of fees to take out $100 USD in pesos. Ridiculous. This town needs a decent ATM if you want tourists to come here.

Upstairs in a building that people say is a police station. One of two ATMs in Holbox and this was the only one that worked with my (foreign) debit card. I withdrew 3200 mxn and the atm fee was 174 mxn. Overall the withdrawal was 2% more expensive than my previous one in Tulum - so it was modest given that it was on an island. I underestimated the amount of cash I needed on the island (less card acceptance), best policy is to make sure to bring plenty! It was such a relief that this one worked!

Up the stairs on corner building that is a poorly marked police station. Safe. Charges a VAT fee but I think you can get that returned to you by your bank if you have a no ATM fee account. DECLINE the withdrawal conversion though, just confirm everything in Pesos and leave the conversion to your home bank rates which won’t be marked up as high.
