Raices - 77310 Holbox

The music was good and had a nice sandy dancefloor. Food was so so. IG- love_to_exist

They want a consumption of 500 pesos for more or less wrecked up sunbeds for a day use. What they offer is that they don't even have coffee drinks as listed on their menue. The cocktails aren't great but okay, but with 150 pesos very pricey! Same applies to the food, loveless food with no taste absolutely overpriced. This is a little bit of a tourist scam- there are many places nearby where they charge u a consumption of 600 Pesos but food and cocktails are good. No recommendation for raices beach, it's a trap.

Nice place at the beach and nice shrimp dishes. Only too bad that there was no fish.

The catch of the day for two is an excellent simple and fresh meal for two. Really nice staff who seated us even though they were about to close. One of our favorite meals and very affordable too (cash only though).

I met a these two girls while traveling solo in Holbox Island who raved about Raices, the beach restaurant. I joined them for dinner one night and really enjoyed their giant seafood dish - supposed to be for two people but with three of us, it was more than enough and we were all full by the end of the meal. That was quite the memorable meal with all that fresh seafood. The sunset show they had for their guests at the beach was very interesting, an indigenous dance ritual of some sort. The only reason I can only give this place three stars is that their alcohol is watered down. I'm aware this is quite a strong statement, but after we each had four tequila shots, we left that place stone cold sober. Now, we weren't there to get drunk, and I am not a big alcohol drinker myself. Two shots of any kind of alcohol, or even one beer or one glass of wine will have me drunk already. After the second shot, we expected to feel a little something. Nope, not even after the third nor the fourth one. We left that place sober as can be, and we really wondered what we just paid for. Great for food and sunset, but go out for drinks elsewhere.

Best prices on the beach that we found, loungers are free of use when you order at least a water, which is also not the average case for the other bars. There's good live music but it's usually the same band every day, at least on our stay and it's like the other bars over the comfort volume to attract more guest. Service was ok we had to ask them for our change a couple of times... Service fee is included in the bill.

Live music, beautiful beach, and arguably the best octopus ceviche on Isla Holbox. 5 stars
