Belmonte - Portuguese Cuisine by George - 77710 Playa del Carmen

A pleasant surprise in Playa d’el Carmen. Make sure they serve you the bread with olive oil as Couvert. Pastéis de Bacalhau is a treat.

Visited three times during my stay in this area. The food and service were great.

We were delighted to dine at Belmonte a couple times during our trip this year. Ordered different things from the menu and were not disappointed. Seafood rice, steak sandwich, jumbo shrimps, steak: everything was up to expectation. The service was five stars too. Will come back.

The food is AMAZING!! The prices are very fair, especially given the quality of good. We had the Croquettes, Onion Soup, and Foie Grass. It was all amazing! They also brought complementary home-made bread that was to-die-for! Last but not least, we had the raspberry Moscow Mule which was delicious. Will definitely come back again!

We had our Christmas dinner at the restaurant. The menu was amazing, each dish was spectacular. Highly recommended.

One of the best restaurants in Playa. The bacchalau was the nicest dish. Also peri peri chicken fantastic. Great gin selection too. Service impeccable. Wonderful ambience and setting.

A good restaurant for dinner. Had the octopus at Cesar's recommendation along with a glass of wine. It was great, cooked perfectly and paired with potatoes. Service from Cesar was excellent. Definitely recommend it and I will go back as had a great experience.

The ambiance was great. Service was on the right track, but not quite hitting the mark. They were sometimes visiting too often when we didn't need them, and other times neglected to take items off the table when we were done with them. For example, we ordered 2 rounds of drinks, one massive drink from the first round was still on our table when we left the restaurant. Some of the drinks were awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed the mojito 1700, it was the star of the show for me. The food was disappointing. We had a fig salad, but it felt more like a meat and cheese platter with a few leaves of greenery - the prosciutto was too salty & thick. The tacos were missing something bright, such as lime or pickled onions. Across multiple dishes, every item was off in some important way that kept it from being a great dish. The oysters were overcooked and tough. The food also didn't sit well with us, it was like eating a greasy meal even though the food wasn't greasy. I think the restaurant has the potential to be good - the foundations are decent but missing something small but important here and there.
