★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wine and food were amazing and paired well. I suggest a bottle with your perfectly cooked steak which ours was (medium rare). The San Blas oysters were a delicious start. My wife ordered the beef tartare and I loved it as well. We didn't order a dessert but they provided one free of charge. My only complaint is that the food took a very long time to come out. Enough where even in deep conversation you wondered why it was taking so long. The restaurant was not very full so maybe there was a mishap with the kitchen. Besides this one factor this place was excellent and I do recommend it for anyone looming for a private spot in SMA for an intimate dinner or just to try some oysters.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great service and the food is AMAZING! A bit tricky to find your way to the second floor, but the venue is very nice. We had two appetizers and two main dishes to share between 5 & we left very satisfied. The lechon was really crispy and juicy... HIGHLY recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A classy and very expensive (for MX) place. However, the food does not match the pretense. The wood roasted half chicken had a very good flavor but was much overcooked. Wines are expensive but the Mexican wine by the glass is good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered the rib eye steak and it looked more like a striploin..? It was very thin and awfully fatty for a rib eye. But they're the experts, so I took their word on it! It was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious so I was satisfied. The caramelized onions were nice - I was impressed that it was an entire onion cut into thirds! But I was a little sad that for the price it didn't come with a proper side dish. I ordered the mashed potatoes as an extra side and they were great, but VERY rich. Almost tasted like if you mixed instant mashed potatoes into a cheese fondue... Strange but surprisingly good! The cocktail was fantastic (I forget the name but it was with ginger beer and irish whiskey. delicious!!) But the red wine was horrible. Ordered a Cabernet Sauvignon to go with my steak and had to practically chug it at the end because it was 200 pesos for a VERY small pour, so I wasn't going to waste it! In their defence, they let me taste a sip first - but I was too focused on my steak to really notice it was bad until it was too late. The bread was stale and crunchy (probably pre-sliced first thing in the morning) and was served with no butter. Atmosphere was great, and not too stuffy. Decorations were fantastic! Would be a great place to take some nice pics over dinner or for a date night. Will probably go back on my next trip, but will just stick with the cheaper cut of steak from the menu - since I suspect that maybe be what I was served anyway! Service was good, but almost... too quick. He only gave me 1-2 minutes with the menu before coming to get my drink order - I hadn't even read through the full drink menu yet. But that's alright! I think I was his only table, so he was probably just excited to have something to do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Flavorless! For the area and the price you would expect a great meal, but this was not the case. I should’ve left when the waiter recommends the fettuccine and the hamburger as their best plate on the menu. The name screams steakhouse! BOVINE! This should be your star dish! Not fettuccine! Not worth your time or money and do yourself a favor….. change your name!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service was below average for a restaurant like this. Server didn’t bring napkins until we had to ask for them mid dinner, food was awful (Black Truffle Pasta had no flavor & $90 porter steak came out COLD and when flagged to the server he offered to ‘reheat’ instead of offering to make a new one), and when we checked the credit card statement, they stole $28 (our bill was only $212 but $240 was charged on the card) by charging a tip that we didn’t leave to them because of the awful service and food. Please don’t come here unless you want cold food & money stolen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Pastrami Sandwich in Mexico!!!
This is my fourth trip to SMA, and each have included multiple trips to Bovine! This 3-day trip saw 3 visits, and all are for the same reason, to get one of these AMAZING Pastrami Sandwiches! It is a MUST eat if you are in San Miguel!
Additionally, the ambiance and interior are a 10! Straight out of an old school hollywood or new york movie.
Service is awesome, and always great gifts in the small shop adjacent to the host stand.
I can’t speak high enough about this great restaurant!
