Car was clean and in excellent condition. Expect high pressure sales tactics trying to persuade you to pay an extra $15/day for a zero deductible insurance after you have prepaid the insurance. Book on Orbitz or a similar website which CLEARLY states the insurance has no deductible. Lastly, document all damage during the initial walkthrough. In addition to taking pictures, record the walkthrough and get the agent on video so there's no question of when the recording was made. I did this and I did not have any problems with allegations of damage to the car. The drop-off process was very easy.

We had a confirmed reservation on 3/10/21 (AA Flight 1256 from Dallas to CZM) and paid in advance through booking.com. Our flight was diverted en route so we came in late by about an hour and a half. Budget, despite having our reservation and flight information did not attempt to contact us or figure out that the flight was delayed. They closed their office. We walked across the street from the airport to get our car and no one was there to help us. The folks at Alamo next store took care of us. We lost our money with Budget as Booking.com wouldn't refund us what we paid. In the future, it would be very helpful if Budget had a list of passengers coming into the airport that had reservations and tracked those flights (if delayed) so they could take care of their customers.

This place lacks transparency and adds on lots of extra fees even after the reservation and price have been set. I reserved an automatic car online through my airline using a credit card. When I arrived, they asked me if I drive standard (I don't) and told me I'd reserved a standard transmission vehicle (I hadn't, and the posters in their office listed all automatic vehicles, so I'm not even sure it's possible to rent a standard from them). When I went to pull up the reservation email on my phone, they made a big show of "upgrading" me to an automatic at no cost. Then they wanted to sell me insurance and went through a whole spiel. Fine, that happens every time I try to rent a car. But when I refused insurance through them, they mandated that I pay an $8/day fee so that they could track the car via GPS. It wasn't a fee for a navigation system, it was just a mandatory fee for not buying their insurance (which is $40/day). They also put a hold on my credit card for over $2000 USD because I didn't buy the insurance. This location also charges an 18% "airport fee" despite the fact that they're not in the airport. You have to walk out of the airport and across the street to get to them, and the airport fee is not disclosed ahead of time. In the end, a rental that I reserved for $164 online from the US cost me $220 plus an international service charge that I wasn't expecting since I thought I was pre-paying but they charged me again in Mexico with the adjusted price. The car itself was fine.
