Buenaventura Grand Hotel & Great Moments - 48310 Puerto Vallarta

Family of 4 with two kids 4 and 6 years old. PROS: The grounds are beautiful. Multiple pools, including a kid pool and an adult-only area. Great eating options with delicious food. Everyone is very kind and accomodating. Family-friendly atmosphere. Great activities/parties. CONS: The rooms are dank, small, and old. I hope they do some renovating - this is a huge issue!! It made our stay much less comfortable and we actually left early for a better room at a different hotel. The beach is quite rocky, though our kids loved throwing rocks in the water so it wasn't so bad. The drinks are so-so.

Had a lovely week at the Hotel Buenaventura Grand and Great Moments! Great central location close to the Malecon and Romantic Zone with pristine beach front and 2 pools. The renovated room was adequate and catered to our needs. There were numerous restaurants to enjoy with no shortage of selection. I only wish I knew Spanish better as the only down side was the language barrier as employees spoke little to no English at all. My Spanish teacher would be proud of me for making it work!! Definitely recommend for value and quality!

Just got back from a 2 week stay at this resort during the holidays and I give it five stars for service, food, and location. It was perfectly located near old town and the romantic zone so we could walk there daily. The guest services, security, front desk, bartenders, activities team, cooks and wait staff were all super friendly and attentive. Even though they were always wearing masks you can tell they were always happy and smiling. They always tried to chat with us, so we got to know several of them. We felt very safe there. The beach was nice, as was expected. I read reviews were people are complaining about the stones on the beach... that's nature, the resort can't really do anything about the rocks coming in with the tide, so just walk a few steps and enter the ocean where it's sandier! The resort did remove rocks from where the lounge chairs were and really that's all they can do. I also read complaints about the vendors and again, this shouldn't be a complaint or have any reflection on the resort. The local vendors were all very nice, all you have to say is "no thank you" and they wouldn't bother you again. They aren't overly aggressive, they are just doing their job. We mostly ate at the a la carte restaurants and the food was always excellent! Our room was old but kept clean and stocked daily, we were not there to stay in our room, so it was not an issue for us. Their Mexican Fiesta and New Years Eve celebration, entertainment and fireworks were amazing! Well done!

I have no clue how this place has the rating it has. The hotel is not much bigger then a Boutique hotel, the food is terrible, and they use the cheapest drink mix. I got fish at their “seafood” restaurant and it tasted fishy and old. Their blended drinks are chunky, the service is slow or non existent on the beach, and the rooms are so small. My room faces an ally where people were rolling carts down until 3am from that nights event. You are better off staying in a beach front condo and eating local. It’s all inclusive and I rather go pay for the street food. The singer was great last night though.

Up until our last day I was going to give this hotel 5 stars, but the poor planning of the event manager really annoyed all the guests. They kicked all the guests out of the big pool at 17:00 and invited us to go to the small one. Imagine a full house at the small pool. All was triggered because they decided to make a Mexican night with tables by the pool and stands and make a big fair out of it. Unfortunately not everyone wants to sacrifice 3 hours of fun and chill by the pool in favor of a short dinner at an inconvenient time. Small other details I was going to ignore are the parking location as it is not very clear and obvious- there should be some signs to indicate where it is. And the other is the lack of quality alcohol at the bars. I’m not much of a drinker but I do appreciate the difference between Beefeater and some generic brand of gyn. Other than that, the hotel is nice. Good food, the rooms are renovated and accommodating, the staff is fantastic and extremely polite and pleasant. It’s also close to the peer and it’s at a great location. The beach is good although the sea floor is quite rocky. I probably will come back to this hotel, but keep one thing in mind about their Mexican nights.

Pros: location is great, you have the beach and then also the town right there to go explore around. The staff is absolutely incredible. Everyone is so nice! As a solo female traveler I felt safe. The spa was great, very good price for what you get. It’s also more outdoorsy, which I liked because I could hear the ocean! Cons: very outdated, public hotel restrooms the doors would not lock. I guess there is a new side and an old side to the resort, i was in the old side, I’m not sure how you book the new side. Food options were limited. The sunset restaurant, where you order off the menu, was a small menu and didn’t change for the week I was there. The buffet restaurant was a hit or miss. The walls were very thin, everything happening in the lobby I could easily hear in my room, and I was not located close to the lobby. There is no ATM at the resort, which would have been nice. Room service is not included in the all inclusive, I had to pay extra.

Amazing stay! From the moment we checked in, the service was impeccable. We got an early check-in because our room was ready to go, everything was tidy and functioning. Perfect for a couple - deluxe renovated king bed room. The hotel itself was gorgeous, the bars were all on point, quick to take your order and deliver. The restaurants were all great, sometimes service at the buffet was slow but nothing to complain about. You have to make daily reservations for the restaurants on site, if you’re lucky you get to enjoy the sunset! Thursday night they hosted an outdoors dinner on the beach and it was amazing!! Best night we had. Only con was that The pool did get a bit crowded with kids and since it’s not that big you have to either wake up early and claim a spot or watch when guests leave like a hawk. Other than that, everything was great. Room service was awesome, and such an easy walk into town!! We walked over twice, along the beach. Highly recommend for an Intimate getaway that embodies casual fun & local feels. I will return with my boyfriend for sure!!!

Spent two days here and It was definitely a great choice. It is a boutique hotel so only a few pools and restaurants. Everything was amazing- the service, the food, the attention to detail. I got a massage and it was well worth it. We also booked one night at the sunset restaurant and the food was really impressive. If you book the 630 slot you’ll also get an amazing sunset view. The hotel is also right on the beach which was a nice addition. We celebrated a birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. The spa staff put together a cake and balloons and the restaurant also brought out a cake. We came with our 4 year old and although there was a kids club there wasn’t many other kids there so we kept her with us during the day. There is a kids pool which she loved. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want a few days to relax, I’ll certainly be coming back.
