Super recommended tour. Jorge the Captain was awesome and we could see a lot of Whale Sharks and mantas. Its a bit rough on the way there, so you better have a dramamine before.

This tour was amazing! Our guides got us in the exact right places at the exact right time! Noel was an excellent cameraman! I don't usually buy the photography package but I definitely had to this time!! Thanks so much Captain Whale Shark!

I was recommend by Total Snorkel Cancun to Captain Whale Shark. The people on the boat wore something on their shirts that said Mininas tours. We were not allowed to wear wetsuits, only flotation devices instead. The breakfast that they give you is a banana, some bread treat, and a yogurt with crackers. The place was 19 miles out and there were other boats there when we got there. There’s only two people allowed in the water at the time. BE SURE TO BRING YOUR OWN VIDEO EQUIPMENT. They will tell you they deleted the good videos and that some of the divers want to sell those for an extra buck. I was shown some videos from the divers PHONE that he took on the go pro. I said that I wanted those. There was an announcement on the boat and we were told that those videos were FOR FREE. Now after my trip, they are telling me that those videos had to be bought and then they said that they were deleted. I want the videos from my first jump. They had no problem sending me the videos from the second jump of me recording the sharks. But when I WASNT recording the sharks from the first jump, they happen to disappear? There was even one with me and a manta ray AND a whale shark in one take. Why would those randomly be deleted? Daniel Meza on Captain Whale Shark won’t respond to me. Carlos on Contoy Excursions is the only one communicating with me. Also they ask for tip at the end of the tour. There will be a lawsuit if I see the videos/pictures of me that weren’t sent up on a page somewhere.

Very well organized and very nice capitán, mariñero and guide. They were very understanding with our family setup (2 adults, 1 kid and a baby), that required extra care. And, of course, more important: we saw lots of whale sharks.

I spent alot of research on the best whale shark tour. However, we went on a boat of 10 people and they were all from different charter companies so I'm not sure it matters. We were picked up at our Cancun hotel at 8 am and driven to a central point for breakfast. Coffee, concentrate orange juice and grocery store pastries were served. Not gourmet but was just fine. Then we loaded the boat across the street, went to another dock picked up more people then rode about 20 minutes to Isla Mujeres to pick up someone else. At 9:20 we set out for the whale sharks. We arrived at the location at about 1030 and swam with whale sharks for approximately 1.5 hours. There were other boats but they did not interfere with our experience. We went in groups of 2 and we all had 3 turns which was plenty of time. One person was scared, so she remained on the boat but she could still see the WS at the surface. Afterwards, we went swimming at Playa Norte on Isla Mujeres while lunch was prepared. We had cerviche, ham/cheese sandwich and watermelon. Water and soda provided. The staff was very kind and accommodating. My 10 and 14 year old daughters loved it! They have a GoPro and take video but it is just too expensive to buy..$60

Worth the money 100% The Crew did their best to create an unforgettable experience for us. We had 3 dives with the whale sharks. Due to conservation reasons, depending on the number of boats/tourists on the water, the dives vary in length because there is not supposed to be too many in the water at once. We had a relaxing stop with fresh cerviche at Isla Mujeres, after the exhausting swims in the ocean. Would recommend the trip to anyone!

Me and my girlfriend booked the trip with Captain Whale Shark the morning of the expedition. I worked with the representative Daniel that was very pleasant and personable. When I initially called they were booked but had some cancellations. Thus, Daniel put in extra work to ensure that we could have a spot with the groups departing that day. Within 15-20 minutes Daniel had reserved us two spots on the tour group. I couldn't speak higher of the professional customer service we received. For the whale shark experience our boat captain was very knowledgeable on the water and placed the saftey of everyone first. Additionally, our guide was very accommodating. Out in the water, we had a wonderful experience diving with the whale sharks. Overall, me and my girlfriend had a wonderful experience with Captain Whale Shark. If your wanting to go on this shore excursion look no further.

Although we only saw one shark due to the migration season coming to its end it was a once in a lifetime experience and so much fun. Would recommend to take Dramamine before the boat ride as it is a long trip with some tough waters and almost everyone got sick at some point. But if you love sharks and want to see these magnificent creatures feeding it was amazing. Wish I could come back and see it during peak season and see 15 of them at a time. Crew was friendly and Beto was helpful in the water giving good direction and keeping everyone together.
