Caracol Plaza - 71980 Puerto Escondido

I had a great room 5th floor overlooking the pool. The room was clean, the beds soft, great A/C. and great shower. Good food in restaurant and clean pool. Staff awesome in the restaurant but not at the front desk. Curtains need updating to keep the outside lights out at night.

I would give this location three stars. One star for the lovely breakfast: fresh, great Mexican flavors, and efficient staff. One star for the beds and staff cleaning the rooms. One star for the views. Minus two stars for front desk service and general cleanliness of the common areas.

I really liked this place. Everything is clean, the staff is kind, the prices are good, the breakfast is tasty and it has a good view. It is not so close to the beach though.

Breakfast was decent. Rooms were dirty (wall, mirrors) Bed was hard. Staff were not welcoming and not helpful. Pool was decent. Pool bar staff are slow as molasses. Location is good. Wi-Fi could be improved.

No staff at the hotel when needed. Our door didn’t work anymore because of the battery of the lock it toked 1 hour before someone came and when they arrive they were rude… This place isn’t a 4 stars I’ll give a 2. The only good point the swimming pool.

Please don't come here. Food got my husband and I sick. lack of staff so no room service and they don't clean much.they left dishes for 24 hours in the lobby of our floor. The room are full of dust. The staff at the reception is rude as always on the personal phone. A lot of moulded walls too. The only good thing is the view and location.

I have really mixed feelings about the hotel. The view is nice and location is also not bad but in general it’s really dirty. When we came to the room there was so much sand on the floor everywhere that it was obvious that no one sweeps the floor there. Also linen was dirty every time they change it, it was dirty as you can see on the picture. Another issue is mold in the bathroom. Moreover, twice we were stuck outside of our room, once for one hour because the lock in our door was broken so it’s easy to see that the hotel needs some renovation.

No one cares about the hotel: non the owner, the staff, the guests. it is very dirty. a packet of chips lay in one place for more than a day and the staff just walk by. the rooms are huge, but the environment is very por. there’s everyday cleaning service, but after it does not get clean at all. staff take away the towels and constantly forget to put new ones, so you have to go down and ask towel yourself. breakfast is a particular pain. of course, it's great that there is one. but you can't go and put food yourself. you have to wait in line until a hotel employee puts food for all guests. and he puts it like he's sparing the food! when I asked for a second scoop of eggs, they look at me with disdain. of course, there's no cheese, ham, fresh veggies. all the good is Mexican, and probably it’s a big plus for someone. they only give 3 pieces of bread for 2 people. and you have to wait all the time while they bring it to you, because they can't put it in the common area. why? I think for the same reason: to not spend extra money. I know, it is pandemic and etc, but all the other hotels serve breakfast in polite way, so guests don’t feel disadvantaged.
