★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Bautista carnitas shop is among my favorite spots in SMA. Usually we are the only gringos there but they serve everyone else in town it seems.
The pork is cooked in huge cemented in place cauldrons. So simple, and delicious. You should really go.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visiting SMA from Lawrence, KS, and originally planned on eating Carnitas as a restaurant nearby. (They were closed.) I ended up at Bautista and it was the best! Homemade tortillas, delicious green and red salsa and most of all, the staff were so friendly to me while stumbling through some broken Spanish.
Absolutely recommend!
