Really nice bungalow in the middle of the mangroves. Might not work for you if you want "sound" privacy cause there are no walls, only screens (due to the climate)

Before reading, keep in mind that I backpacked all over the world and that I’ve seen MANY kind of hostels/accommodation. This is not my first bad experience, but I confirmed that this is in my top 3. It has been a really unpleasant stay for us at the Casa Corazon. Actually, we have never been to a lodging that was this filthy. - We couldn’t sleep last because of the amount of insects in our bed. Bugs, mosquitoes, cockroach. Even with the mosquito net they provided, which was dirty and covered with holes. My partner and I had 30+ bites waking up, even with bugs repellant spray. - The owner provided us only with one mosquito net for two beds. No one was on the premises to give us another one. We had to sleep together on the top bunk bed, on the worse mattress you can imagine, as the temperature was almost 30 degrees celcius. - We think we found bed bugs in our matress. We spotted eggs in the seams of the matress - The music from the surrounding bar kept going until 2am and because our room had no isolation whatsoever, we felt like the band was next to our door. It wasn’t mentioned that the airbnb was next to a live music bar. - The kitchen facilities looked like they were abandoned, with most of the food rotting out or in the fridge. - When you walk in the premises, you are welcomed by an amount of bird fieces you couldn’t imagine. When we rented, we knew the lodging was located in the Mexican Mangrove, we had no problem being surrounded by nature, but this didn’t barely meet basic hygiene standard.

In a beautiful spot in a great location in town and just a few minutes walk from the beach. There are nice cafes and bakeries near by and a few stores where you can buy your groceries and fresh cold coconuts. They have cleaning staff on site but as to be expected it is not an easy place to keep clean as most of the facilities are outside or open air. The kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms all have ants marching around as well as the area being a Haven for mosquitoes ( these can be mostly avoided if you don't spend long in the area or take refuge on your bed which has a mosquito net). We also found we had mouse droppings in and around our room which is never nice but once again hard to avoid in the area. The bathrooms are pit toilets and the shower is cold (things you get used to). I'd say a little over priced but I feel it matches the area.

I really liked this place kept natural to preserve the mangrove. It's such a luxuy to wake up in the fresh nature with the signing roosters. The kitchen has all needed to cook and the cabañas are cute. I've met nice vibe travelers and the people in charge are very caring and available. I recommend for a nice short or long stay in Mazunte. I saw comments from past years, it seems that they really enhanced!
