★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Grandpa died on vacation in Playa Del Carmen Mexico. Hospital sent his body to Casa Funeral San Jose JC in Playa Del Carmen. They charged us $2000. plus $5500. to be wired into 2 personal accounts. Our bank called as this was flagged as fraud. We said it may be fraud but we call it ransom money. Husband called and tried to get them to justify bill and explain. They said "this is what they do" prices were: $800 paperwork, $700 for cheap box around the casket. $600 to drive to airport (30 min), $1500 embalming , airfare $2800 ($800 went to funeral home, $2000 to Edwardo's personal acct in the separate wire) All prices were 1/2 to 1/3 price in our USA city. Mexico is supposed to be cheap. Casket was picked from a catalog and not as pictured. note sheet rock screws dents, chips and scratches. Americans beware. 1 star because they were kind to my sister.
