Excelente servicio, hermosa, limpia, amplia y es perfecta para pasar los mejores momentos en familia, con amigos o pareja... Me regreso con ganas de tener una casa así... Felicidades a los dueños por tan bello lugar...

Unfortunately, the photos of Casa Hortencias do not accurately show the dilapadated condition of the house. Many of the photos on Google are not even this property! As soon as we arrived, there was a very strong odour of mildew in the air. The host/manager said the AC in the living room stopped working. We turned on fans, opened windows etc but the smell lingered the entire time we were there. The house itself was filthy, dusty and the cleaning crew did an awful job of attention to detail. Coffee grounds had been left in the coffee pot from the previous guest and were completely moldy. Strange orange /red stains on the bed sheets. Dust and cobwebs everywhere. Patio furniture is weathered and old. Dead bugs left on the window in the shower. Pool was cold when we arrived even though managers knew we were arriving well in advance and had time to warm it up. It wasn't until the next morning we noticed large amounts of black mold on the living room ceiling. It appeared that someone attempted to paint over it, but it was peeling off. I have asthma and the odour of mold was so strong I ended up sleeping on a patio lounger on the rooftop patio. Staying in a house with black mold is a health risk. The neighborhood itself felt pretty ghetto. The balcony overlooks the house next door that has up to 6 feral dogs that barked day and night and defacated all over the next door patio. Yes, this is what we saw when we tried enjoying time on our patio! The rooftop patio was stained and filthy. BBQ was not cleaned and still had remnants of food left from last cook. Definitely not worth the $6000 US for a 10 night stay. Manager of this rental refused to offer us any sort of refund as we had no choice but to leave after just one day for our own health sake. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere unless you plan to expose yourself to inhaling black mold. Update -it appears that owner/ manager has removed this listing from TripAdvisor. Still shows up on Jefferey Hill Vacation Rentals website.
