β β β β β I was on a mission to see the famed flamingos and the pink lagoons of Las Coloradas. Nightfall came and I was still on the road in unfamilliar terrain with very limited reception. I lucked out after doing a quick search of nearby lodges/restaurants and saw that Casa Jade was only a block away. It was getting late and I was too exhausted to drive another 3+ hours back to my rental in Tulum. I was greeted by the Owner Mauricio who along with the other guests welcomed me with open arms which immediately melted away all my anxiety and distress (it was my first time traveling to Mexico and I'm an independent traveler). I was actually starving when I arrived and Mauricio prepared an excellent plate of fresh caught baby stingray, marinated in sour orange and broiled to perfection served with homemade mashed potatoes. That was my first and most memorable meal in the Yucatan. I had a lovely time getting to know the guests (and big pup Balaam!) who were staying that evening and the staff member Andrea was especially sweet and accommodating. The restrooms were kept very clean, the shower pressure & temperature was fantastic and the feeling of my tired feet sinking into the soft warm sand was truly grounding. I was so thankful that there was a spare room available at a reasonable rate (I did not anticipate getting stranded and I did not take much cash w me), not to mention how relaxing it was to be in such a beautiful location right on the beach. The universe brought me here so that I could pause for a moment, let go of my Type-A nonsense, breathe the fresh air, forget about the WiFi, hear the ocean, allow myself to have soulful connections, be closer to the SOURCE and find peace. I am forever grateful to everyone I met at Casa Jade, especially Mauricio, a great conversationalist with a big heart who shared a lot of his philosophical anecdotes which I appreciate very much. Casa Jade Las Coloradas is a hidden gem off the beaten path, & it is definitely worth coming back to.

β β β β β Casa Jade Las Colorados is a best place to stay, if you planning to visit Laguna Las Colorados or National Park with flamingos. It is very close to those places and the stay will be an amazing experience for you. The place is very authentic and beautiful, everything is made by hand. Mauricio, who is in charge of the business here is very friendly and helpful, he speaks english very well and could explain you about the place. You can get a fresh fish for a dinner, but you need to order it a few hours before.
If someday we will return, we will stay here for sure! Thanks a lot!

β β β β β We had a great stay at casa Jade! The place is next to the beach (1min walk). The rooms and bathrooms are very cool decorated, mostly with objects from the sea and nature. Everything is clean and taken care of. The owner, Mauricio, is super friendly and can give you many tips about what to visit in the area. He knows a lot about the nature and can explain you many things about mexico. Thanks again for the pleasant stay!

β β β β β How could you not love this place? Mauricio is super helpful and an amazing chef! The bed was so comfy. Mosquito netting was essential and did a good job. We are used to camping. But if youβre not you might not enjoy how rustic this place is.

β β β β β Lets start with good things, rooms and beds very comfy, common area has its vibe and its perfect for chill, but...
We arrived for new years eve, the owner showed up after 10 minutes he didnt welcome us at all, he just said what is where, and what we CAN NOT do. We were sure that this place serve food and drinks as it was stated everywhere, but its not true. This day evening everything was closed, thy owner Maurycio told us that he will not do anything for us as he is on his own ( with full house booked and new years eve). We decided to go to shop and bought some stuff to do Sandwich. We took plates from the bar, and than the yelling started. I dont understand this, he yelled at us because we took some pkates on new years eve because he refused to serve dinner and drinks, only because he was on his own?! We as a guest should not care at all about this! Anyways, he didnt provide and positive vibe, smile, welcome or even some new year wishes. Funny stuff, he told us that in common area we cant smoke, but than he smoked there himself all the time!? Next morning to surprise he made us breakfat, but he didnt do it on the 2nd day! Why? In the end we were charged for this breakfast 160 pesos ( fruits and scrambled eggs) i really do not recommend to anyone to stay there, look for place in rio lagartos or Santa Felipe! So dissapointed as this place could have such a huge potential!

β β β β β I don't get how this place has so many good reviews. I mean the place itself is very nice, comfty beds, nice hammocks. But I can't say many nice things about the host. We went to casa jada for new year's eve. At the beginning Mauricio told us all the 'don'ts' - don't touch the dog, don't use another shower, don't, don't don't. Then he yelled at my husband cause he went behind our bungalow-to see what's there. Apparently that's another "dont". We knew that Mauricio cooks and that was our plan for the evening of the New Year's-to eat something nice, drink and celebrate at case jada. All the restaurants in the town were closed btw. In the afternoon Mauricio was nowhere to be found - two other guests were looking for him. When he finally showed up he said that he won't be cooking nor serving drinks. And he left. So we went to find the restaurant-that was not successful so we went to the store with other guests to buy alcohol and bread for sandwiches. We were sitting in the common area talking and eating our snacks and around 23:30 we decided to make sandwiches. We went behind the bar to take knife and plates and then Mauricio showed up. Yelling. And he kept yelling and arguing with other guest for 10 minutes calling us names. Cause we dared to take the knife. That's not hospitality. He wasnt a host whatsoever. He knew that we were hungry that it was new years and he did nothing. So we spend the last minutes of 2021 listening to his screams. The next day he said that he'll do us breakfast. And he did but said nothing about the price. We were sure that it's his way of apogising. Well it wasn't. For an egg and fruits he wanted 160 pesos per person. Mind that a dinner in the restaurant in Las Coloradas is 150 pesos. Not to mention that he didn't even say hello and was grumpy our entire stay. He also had problem with reservation. He didn't have our and other gustes full reservations. I've never had such experience and I've never met such 'host'. That's a pity cause the place itself has huge potential.
BTW there is a wifi (router is behind the bar), a working one-but Mauricio is lying and telling that there's no internet.

β β β β β We had a perfect night in the comfiest little hut and wished we had more time to stay longer! This place is a little paradise on its own, we fell in love with all the small details right away and had a chill out evening with delicious freshly cooked fish dinner and nice talks with Mauricio. His dog is very good and calm company, too. For us it was fine to not have a bathroom directly in the hut, we were good with having to take a few steps to it and really enjoyed to just have the bed in the bungalow. Mosquito nets and repellent did the trick for us for the night, we had a good sleep. Mauricio is so passionate about this place and spends so much time to work on it, replace and repair things, and make the best place possible of it! You can get really lost here, forget about the world for a little time and get in touch with nature. Singing birds woke us up and the bed was the most comfortable one we found on our Yucatan trip. Some eggs, bread and fruit salad with coffee was also a good start for the day after we took a short walk on the nearby beach. If it takes us back to Mexiko one day it will surely take us back to Casa Jade, too. Thank you for this beautiful place Mauricio, it is a jewel! Greetings from (soon again) Germany!
