Brand new hotel. I just came for the day pass so that I could work (wifi speed test was 20mbps). 2500 pesos you get 1000 towards food, 1 hour massage, 2 yoga classes (9am and 5pm), umbrella/chair. Food was delicious, I spent the whole day here working and chilling. Also enjoyed the fire dance. Staff super attentive. Yessi was the best!!

Nice restaurant. Very friendly service, the food was excellent. At the beach there was a nice live Band and beautiful atmosphere. Would recommend :)

If you’re looking to sleep and rest, stay somewhere else. Since 8am you can hear a symphony of noises, from the cleaning personnel to moving furniture in the floor above. I had to leave my room at that time and ask them to be silent. Service is not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel, seems like the staff is undertrained. Also, keep in mind you can’t swim in the ocean because they don’t have a lifeguard. Overall the hotel is really pretty, but it’s not really the Puerto vibe in my opinion.

Casa Joseph was a solid hotel, my rating of 3 stars is due to them claiming to be, and subsequently charge, 5 star hotel rates. I stayed here for a week. First night I stayed on top floor, which was a solid room. Bed was comfortable, however, the pillows were very thin and gave me neck pain. I had to change rooms because it was hot. Even with the AC unit on, we did not sleep comfortably. Reason for this is they designed the room to allow the sea breeze to come through the top floor, which is cool if the breeze was cool all day long. It was too hot for us though. We asked to be changed to a different room, on the second floor. This room had a better AC unit. The issue with this room, was the lack of WiFi. It had no network available, so for the week I stayed there, the WiFi was never reliable in the room. An issue they were aware of. Having stayed here for a week, their menu quickly became boring. Though good, after so many chilaquiles and rib eyes, you tend to want something different. My husband has a seafood allergy, so his options were very limited. I guess our mistake was expecting a more typical "Mexican" cuisine, rather than bougie, though delicious, meals. Though this is a beach front hotel, using the beach on their property is "not recommended". By that I mean, you can't. We were on the verge of going to rent/buy a boogie board, and the front desk kindly took it upon themselves to do that for us. Great, we thought. After a few hours and back and forth, they decided it was too much of a liability for them to use boogie boards. This "5star" hotel charges well above $500 USD a night, but boogie rentals are out of the question. In order to enjoy the beach, eat and drink, you have to go elsewhere, like Punta or Carrizalillo. Which defeats the purpose of booking this beach front hotel. Restaurant/bar staff was great. They really make sure you have everything you need. Room staff would still knock on door even with our "privacy" charm displayed. Front desk was friendly enough, yet not really "5 star" service. At the end of my stay, I checked out, and was handed a receipt, but wasn't told I needed to pay the amount. So I just stood there ready to go, looking crazy ha, thinking I was good to go and paid out. They did offer spa services, while I didn't try any, I wouldn't have wanted to as the spa is all outdoor, and pretty much out in the open. I did see folks enjoying morning and evening yoga classes if that is what you are into. Long story short, rooms are clean, stay on 2nd or 1st floor for good AC, wifi is spotty, beach activities are a no go, food is delicious, but menu the same, restaurant/bar staff is great, not worth the $500+/night.

I will preface this review by saying that this is a solid hotel and I had no huge issues while staying here. What follows is based on the fact that this hotel is marketing itself as 5* and charging towards the top end of that price range. Overall it was a good experience at the hotel however the service felt rather impersonal compared to most 5* hotels we have stayed at and the location is rather remote if you hope to be close to bars and restaurants. Annoyingly the location is still not remote from lots of construction noise nearby which would have been an upside from an out of the way location. Soundproofing of the rooms could be better. Overall it was a nice hotel, but I would place this more towards the upper 3* lower 4* experience. If you are looking for a nice clean hotel in Puerto Escondido and want to avoid the more hostel-like culture of Punta then this could be an option for you, however I do not consider it to be good value for money and next time I think I will head stay down in Punta, closer to the main vibes.

We came to Casa Joseph for the day pass and it ended up being the best day of our entire trip. We arrived at 10 am and stayed until nearly midnight. Every single person on staff was friendly and attentive the whole day long! We felt so special throughout the entire experience. Our day pass included access to the chairs and umbrellas, as well as the larger cabanas, plus 1000 pesos to spend on food and drink. We lounged on the beach, ate three delicious meals, and drank refreshing cocos and cocktails. We were served a complimentary taste of mezcal and brought cold damp towels during the mid afternoon heat. We closed out the evening with an hour couples massage followed by dinner on the beach during sunset while being serenaded with live music. We also got a mezcal flight and dessert after our meal. We could not have imagined a better day to end our time in Puerto Escondido. I'm sure the stay would be just as wonderful, but we would highly recommend the day pass if you are in the area. Thank you, Casa Joseph!

Best hotel on the beach! Very accommodating staff, great food, live music, peaceful and serene. You won’t want to leave the hotel. We had all these plans to go do other things and we didn’t get through half of them because the hotel experience was so wonderful. 10/10 highly recommend

Casa Joseph was outstanding. We had a booking at Airbnb but still decided to book a night at Casa Joseph. It was worth it! We even came back for a few days. They recently had their opening but still managed to offer us a memorable stay. Beautiful hotel, great service and staff is always very helpful. Rooms are a dream! Everything is clean. Beach just in front. Food is amazing. Yoga with Marta is great. Recommend 100%.
