Casa manik - 77930 Bacalar

La casa está increíble. En verdad vale lo que cuesta. Solo un gran detalle. El área cerca de la laguna está sumamente resbaloso. Es obvio pero si deberían de tener letreros que les avisen a los huespedes ese detalle para evitar accidentes graves. Eviten descuidarse en esa área y por nada caminen por esa área descalzos.

Bellísima casa, hermoso lugar y bello paisaje junto al lago.

Careful with this property, they go through your belongings and steal you and not a few bucks, more than 1,000 dollars!!! The owner has a terrible attitude

Wonderful house undersold by their own pictures on Airbnb. Great standard, fresh and clean and simply somewhere you will not want to leave!

incredible place amazing view

At this place all of our money and valuables were stolen, from someone who had access to the house and the owners did not provide us any help at all. We had our beautiful and perfect wedding at Dec 1st at Paraiso Bacalar, where our guests gave us 20'000 pesos in total for our honeymoon as an gift. Among other valuables those 20'000 pesos (approx. 1000 USD) were stolen from the inside pocket of our backpack, which we put in our suitcase, which was located in our bedroom of Casa Manik. When we realized the money was stolen from us at Dec 6th, we turned the whole place upside down and checked for any signs of forceful entry. We did not find anything. So at that point it was clear for us that someone with a key to the house must have entered. Therefore we decided to contact the property owner Victor Zapata. After half an hour his brother Carlos showed up together with his friend. We told him about what happened and told him that we want to see the surveillance videos - of course suspiciously this was not possible at this moment, because just at that day the internet has stopped working. Having a security camera system, which is depending on internet connection is very secure for a place like Bacalar where almost everyday blackouts happen right? On top of that he was questioning if we even had the money in the house - so for us it felt like he was accusing us to come up with the whole thing and why we did not use the safe, which was not working by the way. We agreed with Carlos that we are going to check the videos the next day, when the internet issue was going to be fixed - at this moment it was clear for us, that they will make sure every evidence is gone until then. We called the police, contacted airbnb and reported the issue, but we decided give them a chance to show us the camera pictures and help us out until the next day before we file a complaint. On the next morning Victors brother Carlos came to the house together with a technician. They were not able to show us the surveillance on the tv screen, the only thing that Carlos could offer us is to look at the pictures he had on a app on his phone. As we feared, mysteriously all cameras were working except the two main ones, the one of the front and the back door. So I spend like 4 hours checking video by video the available pictures on a little mobile phone screen - a total waste of time, because not only huge sequences were missing, there were also a lot of dead angles because of the the two malfunctioning cameras. We left the property very angry and lost all our nerves, because we had to deliver our rented car a few hours later in Playa del Carmen. Before leaving Bacalar we went to the police and filed a report, but the secretary was already mentioning there will be no outcome because it is one word against the other - we were not expecting the biggest contribution from the Mexican police anyway. Bottom line - Bacalar is awesome, but don't stay at Casa Manik and any other property of Victor and Carlos Zapata. Also do not expect any help from Airbnb and the Mexican Police - my family and I hope that nobody has to experience a situation like that.

Nice view, security cameras,safe in the bedroom. Kitchen equipment good. 3 bathrooms good.Ceiling fans...AC. Huge yard for privacy. 8 min to go get food or to the liquor store. Good to share between 2 families of 4 or 5.
