About Casa Terramar Sayulita

If someone would have told me, Beth Reichert, that at 50 I’d be living in Mexico running my own vacation rental business, I would have chuckled and said, “I wish”. But, that  is exactly what happened!

I’m originally from the Chicago area, about 60 miles south and grew up on a farm. I”ve always liked nature, adventure and travel. I was 6 when I took my first road trip with my Grandmother across country on Route 66 to Arizona.  From that moment on, I loved to travel and explore. It was during that summer that I visited Mexico for the first time; the border town of Nogales. Sitting on a burrow with a sombrero getting my photo taken was the start of my love affair with Mexico. I still love burrows…as you can see….
Needless to say as an adult;  many of my travels were to this fascinating country. I’d dream and scheme about how great it would be to live there someday.  Of course all the while thinking  that “someday” would never really come.

But then that someday arrived. What at first glance was the worst day of my life…being let go from the company I had worked at for 17 years was actually a wonderful gift.   Suddenly a huge door opened  and I choose to pass through it and make my daydream a reality.

My poor family!  “Beth, you are moving to Mexico?” “Are you crazy?”   “Well, maybe just a little.”

I purchased Villa Casa Terramar in 2010 and then added Casita Tortuga in 2015. When I think back to my first year here…oh my…fun, exciting, challenging, and the list goes on.  I’ll say one thing it wasn’t dull and that still holds true.  I look around and say thank you every day!

Vacation time is precious. You work so hard to have time away which is why I enjoy making that time away as wonderful as possible for my guests. Whether you are a first time visitor  to Mexico and have a million questions or you are seasoned traveler who  just wants to know the best taco stand, I’m here and willing to share all that this magical town has to offer.

I hope you choose to stay with us.
Cold cervezas will be waiting.
Beth

Casa Terramar is the place to stay when visiting Sayulita, we truly enjoyed our stay here.  There are 3 units and a beautiful pool, It felt as if we were the only ones staying here, like having your quiet private oasis.  Our room was nicely appointed with everything you need including a blender, microwave, toaster oven, gas stove and full size refrigerator and much more.  The room decor maintains the local flavor of Sayulita, with plenty of fans to keep you comfortable, AC isn’t necessary.  The terrace was my favorite location for morning coffee and evenings with a cold cerveza or two or…while you enjoy sunset as it falls on the hills of Sayulita.  We will definitely make this a yearly escape to the sun and relaxation.  You will enjoy the views, sounds and feel of Mexico from this clean beautiful casa. The location couldn’t be better, you are no more than 5-10 minutes from anywhere in Sayulita, the central square (actually a triangle), the N beach (quieter than the S beach), hospital, bank, policia and a plethora of Tiendas and fruit & veggie stands.  It’s a bit of a steep walk but not a big deal.  At the end of the day on the beach and boogie boarding we’d come back to this perfect pool to cool off and enjoy.  There are roosters but it didn’t wake me nor did they bother, fyi.  You are in Mexico so life is a little different, embrace the difference’s, right? Beth & Rubi (her dog)  are the best, Beth is super helpful and friendly.  Beth made a few arrangements for me since I don’t speak Spanish she is awesome.  I can’t say enough about Beth, if you have questions she will have the answer and take care of you. Sayulita is a great little surf town with plenty of great food places and at a great price too!  You can find Italian, Thai, BBQ, Burgers if you need a change from all the great street food and Mexican restaurants. Recommended local fare, Mary’s, El Itacate, Yeikame, Taco Tal Ivan, probably anywhere you go is good. We liked getting food from the carts on the street. When you feel like exploring there are 3 beaches you can walk to, Play Carricitos  (60Min) my fav is Playa Malpaso, which is on your way to San Pancho (75-80 min).  Playa Los Muertos near the cemetery is great for flat swimming water (20min). If you want to get away and relax with a good book, sun, surf and sand and pool this is it. There is a seat and hammock with your name on it on the terrace. Enjoy

We enjoyed two heavenly weeks in Casita Elana at Casa Terramar. The casita is so comfortable and wonderfully equipped with everything one could possibly need on vacation - comfy bed, fresh high quality linens, beach chairs, towels and umbrella, a safe for all of your valuables and more. The open air living room and kitchen let you enjoy the pleasant breeze while hearing and watching birds in the trees. The afternoon visits from the Chacalacas were very entertaining. The pool area is one of the best in Sayulita - sparking water, manicured landscaping, comfortable loungers, tables and umbrellas. Many afternoon conversations were enjoyed poolside with Beth (the owner) and other guests. The climb up the hill to the property helped us burn off the calories from the food and drinks enjoyed at the many nearby restaurants. We loved the visits from Rubi, Beth's dog. She is such a sweet dog. Don't think twice, reserve your space in one of Beth's three units and you won't be disappointed. We would definitely consider a return trip to this property.

This is a great place to stay. A real gem hidden up a short hill in the north part of Sayulita, away from the downtown noise but still close to everything. Beautiful views of Monkey Mountain and surrounding jungle. I stayed in Casita Alberca (there are a total of three rental units) and would have stayed longer if it hadn't already been booked. Bright, clean, comfortable, tastefully furnished with fully equipped kitchen. Strong reliable wifi service through the property. The front terrace leads out to the pool which plunges to 10ft - amazingly refreshing on a hot day. And of course there's a hammock, on an upper deck with even better views. You couldn't ask for a better host than Beth. Genuine, friendly, helpful, always ready with interesting and useful information. And don't forget to say hi to Rube, but don't give her more than one doggie snack!

I stayed for a week at Casita Elena at Casa Terramar and it was one of the best stays I could have asked for. Beth is an incredibly accommodating host and was there with anything we needed. She also gave us some stellar recommendations for where to eat and what to do in and around Sayulita. Our unit Casita Elena fit the three of us comfortably and we really enjoyed how unique the outdoor kitchen and living space was. I worked remotely a few days during my stay and can confirm that the WiFi is strong all over the property (nothing better than working next to the pool!). The property is set up a hill so it’s a bit quieter than the center of town but is also a 5-10 minute walk to the town center and beach, so it’s very well located. 10/10 would recommend and we already want to come back!

We stayed in Beth’s casita in April /22. We had a great experience! The place is well equipped and comfortable, and the outdoor area with pool is amazing after the climb up to Casa Terramar! Beth is an excellent host and quick with communication. We’d stay again for sure!

Casita Tortuga at Casa Terramar was perfect for us! Because we live in a remote place, it was wonderful to enjoy the bustle of downtown Sayulita and the beach, and then retreat back to Casa Terramar and relax by the pool in calm and quiet. We spent two weeks and found our casita perfect for our needs and could have easily stayed longer. Morning in our outdoor kitchen was especially wonderful watching the bird life. The bed was comfortable and the shower great! Beth, the owner, was BEYOND helpful and deserves a review of her own. (We really appreciated the umbrella and beach chairs as we explored the area on our own). If you value feeling like you belong in a place you are visiting, this is the place for you.

An absolute gem of a find in Sayulita. Close enough to walk everywhere you could want to go in town but far enough away to feel private and cozy. The whole Casa is stunning but the Casita Tortuga, where we stayed was just perfect for the two of us. Shared spaces like the pool and upper deck are total bonuses. Beth is an incredibly attentive host who has clearly taken time and effort to create a lovely experience The parrots, roosters, dogs and music seemed a bit loud initially but by the last night, we were recording voice notes to take the sounds home with us. A true reminder that you have left home and are some place special.

Villa Casa Terramar was everything we hoped it would be and more! We stayed at Casita Elena, which was the perfect size for the two of us! The pool was beautiful and the views were spectacular. Even though you are just a couple of blocks from the beach, this is a quieter area on the hill where you can escape from the noise of the city. Beth was so great! Checking in was super easy and she even had cold beers waiting when we arrived. She gave us the best recommendations and had tons of helpful tips to make our stay truly unforgettable. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you Beth and Rubi!
