We've been here for a week and this is our last night here. I left a ⭐⭐⭐ review on our second day here but now I'm changing it to ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. The main reason we would come back to Catalina is the staff, they're all very friendly, helpful and welcoming especially our housekeeper Beatriz who did a great job every time. The buffet was good for breakfast and ok for lunch or dinner. The night restaurants were very good but the (long pants requirement for men was not enforced) which is fine with me. The beach is great. I can't review alcoholic beverages because we don't drink. The only thing we didn't like is Air Conditioner in the room (4312) because it doesn't really cool enough. Overall we're happy with the experience and we'll be back again. Please disregard my 3 ⭐ review that I left 5 days ago before we experienced everything here. Thank you Ali Hatoum

I spent 1 week in the resort. Everyone working there was extremely friendly and helpful! The beach was being cleaned regularly for sea weed removal. The pool is very clean and they always have activities running throughout the day to keep everyone engaged and excited. The food was absolutely amazing, highly recommend the steakhouse and the Japanese restaurant! Room service is regular and they restock water every time they enter the room for cleaning. Easy to get around and sign up for excursions. It’s for sure a very nice family resort with all amenities located nearby for your convenience. Highly recommend the resort!

We stayed for 5 nights in the swim out privileged suite which was very nice. However the room was not the cleanest, it was not ready upon arrival as advertised with the privilege extras. We had to find our room on our own and when we did the maid was still cleaning it. The swim out pool was filthy dirty. The ocean view was slight but still a great view. Overall it was a beautiful room. My flushable wipes were stolen out of my bathroom on our last night (very bizarre). As far as the food the only restaurant I liked was Bloved the buffet and other restaurants were just ok. Most of the staff were very nice we made some friends with them. One of my biggest issues which may prevent me from returning was the lack of diversity at the resort. I can count on one hand how many people of color were there including myself and my spouse. We definitely got "looks" and experienced some racist situations unfortunately even from the staff. The resort needs to cater to more people of color I felt very uncomfortable at times. Drinks were VERY watered down but if you tip well they will hook you up. It's a beautiful place overall I loved the Coatis and Iguanas that walked around and the jungle environment.

This resort is located on a lovely private beach that boasts the soft white sand and clear blue waters one comes to expect of the Mayan Riviera. As well, the buildings are situated within the forest, which makes the walk to the lobby or the beach one sure to be met with a coatie (or ten) as well as lizards, monkeys and a host of other local creatures. The staff were all wonderful and friendly, especially the housekeepers who went out of their way to help us out when our son had an accident and made a mess of the room. And on the note of rooms, our room was large and well laid out with a perfect amount of space for a crib for our infant and a bed for our 4 year old. The resort was incredibly clean and you could see staff testing the water quality in the pool, cleaning the restaurants impeccably between meals, and generally maintaining the cleanliness of the common spaces. The food was simple, but fresh and tasty with a good amount of variety at the buffet. Also, shout-out to the Happiness providers and staff like Elizabeth at the kids Mini Club who were so wonderful with our daughter and really made the evening childrens events memorable.

Really nice relaxed hotel. Only small downside is trying to sell you the timeshare but once you make it clear your not interested they don't push it. The staff are amazing and the hotel is beautiful. We even saw some monkeys at the hotel

Came to this hotel to stay for 6 days with two kids. Not everything was terrible but some inconveniences stand out. First. I would like to start with the negatives. At around 9 PM (21:00) the neighboring hotel would start their concert. My room was directly beside the hotel and even with closed doors and pillow on my head could I hear the music. Putting my kids to bed especially was a nightmare. I called the reception asking if we could be relocated and in response, we were told that this did not happen every night. The next night I could still hear the loud music. The ocean was pretty clean, and the food was great but this music impacted my experience a lot.

I stayed here a little over a month ago and have to say that I was not impressed with the food. You can also tell that they give you the smallest portions because it is all inclusive. The night club is filled with old folks age 50+ and the music was terrible. In fact, most the nights the night club was miserably empty. Be prepared to walk for 5-10 minutes everywhere (even if you are by the beach you will be like a mile away from the lobby. I also was not allowed to leave the resort over a signature by a manager (which made me feel like I was held hostage) I was in my taxi car relieved to leave this horrible resort when the security told the person at the gate to have my taxi come back to the resort over a signature needed by management! I stormed in there furious and was late to my flight. Also, if you want to stay here and “meet” people just realize not many people speak English and are from France and other parts of Europe and even they (or anyone else) for that matter will not want to talk to you as this is a family resort and the guests are not friendly. I was also ripped off for $300 by a man selling me a “yacht” rental. I wish I could give this place zero stars. PLEASE STAY AWAY! Oh and also, the rooms are terribly out dated and depressing.

We stayed 2 weeks here for Christmas and New Years not many things to do for that amount of time. Food was mostly without flavor everywhere we went. My personal opinion is if you are not part of their privileged group you won't get treated right. Stayed at a different resort in a previous occasion and was much better. Room was nice I believe we got one of the remodeled ones but they all have no nice views, mostly all you see is trees.
