Catalonia Royal Tulum - 77790 Xpu Ha

A very nice relaxing hotel resort. Staff are very deferential, caring and welcoming, attending to all your needs. Downside is distance between the restaurants and the evening by-pool activities if you have mobility issues, though you can request buggy transport. Eco arboretum between the apartment blocks add to the delight, as well as the walkway across the mangrove, and the small lake.

Staff were nice. Pool and beach area were nice and relaxing. However, this was not a 5 star resort. Beds were mediocre at best. Pillows bunchy and my neck hurt. Food was terrible, anyone on here saying food was good doesn't know how to eat. If it was rated a 3 star I wouldn't be writing this, but a 5?!! The drinks were super weak too we resorted to tequila shots. Choose another resort.

Let me begin by saying I’m currently staying here for the second time and this is by no means a 5 star resort. This is my honest review: 1) rooms: fine, spacious. I liked the beds also. Very clean. 2) service: good (although a bit slow) at b loved. It isn’t bad in general, just slow and spotty, specially on the pool and beach areas where you can wait for a drink for 30 minutes. 3) check in: this was the worst. It was 2:50pm and they said rooms weren’t ready and that we should go have lunch. We did and tried to check in again at 4:30 pm and rooms weren’t ready either. The woman at the front desk had a bit of an attitude. 4) Beach: there’s sargazo (seaweed) everywhere and it made the beach inaccessible. This was a huge disappointment. The hotel staff do their best cleaning this but it’s not enough. I won’t be returning here during seaweed season because I saw more expensive hotels who do clean it completely and guests can still use the beach. 5) Pool: nice but hard to find a chair. People seem to reserve seats at 7am and never leave them. 6) food: not great, except at B Loved. B loved is only for privileged and exclusive guests and it’s amazing. We even got a special treatment from servers because they remembered us from a previous trip. 7) cleanliness: overall a very clean resort, no complains here Overall a decent but not a 5-star experience. Probably not returning.

The staff everywhere was very Friendly and helpful! We stayed 10 days, everything was perfect and amazing! We didn't try any food we did not like, but the Beloved restaurant, food and staff, was the best! Awesome atmosphere everywhere! The room service was hit and miss if it would show up, or if it was correct. Marie in house keeping was very friendly, and kept are room in amazing clean shape!

Here's the real, if you've been to an actual 5 star resort you will know right away that this resort is a 3. The landscaping and care to the grounds was beautiful! The resort is very relaxing if that's all you're after. Whereas room service is 24 hours, the night time options are VERY LIMITED. There are only 3 items available after 11pm. The pool situation is CRAZY. In order to secure a spot by the pool, we has to wake at 630 EVERY morning and go save a spot. Otherwise, you may find a spot by the beach. The restaurant food was not very good. Dealable but not good. The Mexican restaurant was without question the best. I hated that more restaurants weren't open throughout the day. Between 3pm and 6pm your only option was the snack bar with limited items or one of the few room service items. We had no problem with the drinks. Overall all, our objective was to relax and we definitely did that! However, we will definitely pick a different all-inclusive next time.

It is not a 5 star resort and 4 is pushing it. Food took this down. Also need to offset these other reviews talking about food quality. Beach: amazing and what you imagine Cancun to be like Staff: amazing and friendly Walk / Scenery: fantastic forest cover and boardwalk from room to the beach. It is not a far walk 400 meters max Food: Not good. The best thing is the lunch buffet where you can make your own Mexican plate for lunch. Tried 4/5 restaurants and all of them missed. Italian was the worst unfortunately with the pasta dishes. Trying to do too much and consequence is nothing was good. Chicken wings at the pool bar, make your own Mexican lunch and mashed potatoes at the grille are the best items.

I’ve never stayed at an all-inclusive resort so I went in with high expectations. This resort exceeding them. The room was great! Comfortable bed, spacious, great shower, and comfortable temperature. Really enjoyed the food! Bloved was so good! The customer service was above and beyond. The pool and beach were awesome!! Can’t wait to go back!

This is an HONEST review. The resort is amazing. Great staff, clean room, nice amenities. 10/10 for the cleanliness and overall hospitality. The reason I give it a 4/5 stars is because of the food! This is my first all inclusive experience and I understand that there’s people from all walks of life that visit the resort, but as a African American, the food here was TERRIBLE! Like, awful. I tried 3/5 restaurants and even room service, the food was unseasoned, bad quality, and just not good. I had to go off the resort every night just to find something decent to eat. Also, the drinks were extremely weak. I was pretty disappointed with the food experience. But besides that, highly recommend the resort
