About Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The crazy surface textures on the top floor of the atrium really did it for me. Exhibition spaces are spread all over the complex.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place needs attention right away. It has an arqueological site, a colonial church and a memorial that means a lot to the country.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BEST FREE ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE IN THE CITY
Just north of the Historic Center of Mexico City is the Tlateloloco site which before the Spanish conquest was the scene of a thriving open air market that saw 30 to 40 thousand people come to trade and purchase on an every day basis.
It is also the site of the Plaza of the 3 Cultures - the Pre-Hispanic, the Hispanic and the Mestizo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the great pleasure of attending a Jazz concert at the Foro Cultural de la UNAM Tlatelolco. This performing arts center is located in the same complex. The trio played masterfully and the audience was appreciative. I found this place by obtaining a schedule of events from the principal Culture Center at UNAM. Concerts are affordable and regularly scheduled here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very big city of the Mayas, good excavations and restorations of a 1200 years old important place in mexican history. Too much street vendors!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tlatelolco is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city and so it has many stories, anecdotes, and legends. It is an emblematic place of Mexico City, but an underestimated one. I strongly recomend to visit the "Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco", on weekends there are many cutural activites, tours through the neighborhood, seminars, presentations, and many others. Also, there are old Mexica's ruins and visitors can walk arrond them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visit the museum dedicated to arguably the worst atrocity committed against its own people and students mind you. The timeline is well outlined and shows how corruption isn't our only downfall, murder runs rampant here with no real hope for justice in sight.
